I idealized her. Today she walked into the office with her chin raised and proud again. She greeted everyone just as usual; with a smile that made the edges of your eyes crinkle. As she moved on to her cubicle, the whispering started just like everyday.
"I heard her husband has filed for divorce".
"I heard her little son has decided to go with her father".
"I heard that her short temper is the reason behind it all".
"I heard that it was because she focuses too much on the office".
None of it was true.
I had bumped into her at the mall last week. She was with her husband and son- they looked so happy, so content.
People always "ASSUME" things with a statement starting from 'I HEARD'. The things you hear are not always true.
But the rumors had taken refuge in the brains of our colleagues for a month now and not once did she try to correct them or explain to them.
She must have thought, 'let them hear what they want to. I am going to keep enjoying and living my life to the fullest.'I admired her.
