Why are failures called failures and not unaccomplished attempts?

Just because you couldn't achieve the end goal?

Do we even realize what the word 'fail' does to a person?

Why does every attempt has to be successful and accomplished?

Why can't we just take baby steps and learn from our so-called "failures" little by little?

Just because only the fittest survive?
