Two-faced

Theme: Someone who may not be a pretentious person may be perceived as one and vice versa.

We all say that being pretentious and two-faced is a huge turn off.

I am not saying it is not, but isn't it essential in some cases?

For instance; when you are trying to avoid a ridiculous argument while the other person is constantly over-ruling your actually right statement, what do you do?

Apologize?
Walk away?
Smile and change the topic?

Then what?
Won't you talk about what had happened with someone else?
Won't the person in the argument perceive you as two-faced after hearing upon your side of story through the grapevine?

It's all relative; perception and pretention that is.
