I sit with Will in the waiting room.  We were both waiting anxiously on Charlotte's condition, Will's hands folded over each other, shaking, me with my head in my hands trying to keep myself together.  How could this night have turned out like this?  Will's phone then started ringing.

"Hello," he answered.  "Oh hi Liz."  I could hear a woman's panic through the phone.  "No, no news yet...You're on your way now?...Great, yes, we will see you soon, bye."

"Liz," I asked him when he hung up the phone.  "Charlotte's mother, both of her parents are at the airport in the U.S."

"Oh, I didn't know you called them," I said.

"Well of course I had to call them as soon as we were in the ambulance, she's their daughter for Christ's sake.  And the only child too," he said in a stressful tone, back to shaking his hands in nervousness.

"Oh, right," I said, acting like I actually knew who her parents were.  But I didn't.  I didn't know half as much as Will knew about my Charlotte.
