I can't believe I let things between Charlotte and I happen the way they did.  The image of her body laying on the wet ground, as the blood ran out of her body and washed down the street from the rain.  It was a horrifying picture.  It's been killing me inside that I wasn't allowed to see her in the ICU.  I was practically like a brother to her; maybe even more.  I wish I could take back everything I said and everything I did.  I shouldn't have hurt the one that I loved.  I felt a hand lay on my shoulder.

"You haven't been out of this hospital since you arrived," Liz said, sitting in a chair beside me.

"I wasn't hoping to stay this long either," I said.

"I mean you should get out, take a break," she said rubbing my back.  "You guys did your job to by looking after Charlotte and taking her here."

"Yeah, but thanks to us, she's in this situation," I said looking down at the floor.

"No one is to blame, it was just bad timing," she said, trying to get me to look at her again.  "All we can hope is that she wakes up."
