I remained with my body for the entire week.  Me, laying motionless on the hospital bed, the only sound coming from the heart monitor beside me.  I tried everything.  From imagining myself in my own body, to laying on top of my body so that my ghostlike figure would go inside my body.  They didn't work.  I watched my parents sit in the chair beside my bed everyday, coming to talk to me.  I wish they knew that I was really here and that I was listening.

I got up from the chair as my dad walked in.

"Hey, Lottie," he said as he sat down with a big sigh.  "I hope you are okay, wherever you are.  We can't wait until you come back.  Your mother and I love you very much, and so do those guys who are waiting for you downstairs.  I know they do.  They refuse to leave until you wake up."

I placed my hand on top of his as he grabbed my hand from my unconscious body.

"I know that you're strong enough to get through this," he said with tears forming in his eyes.  "But we all understand if you can't hold on.  We know that you will be in safe hands up there."

"Dad," I said, with the tears coming down nonstop.
