"My choice?" you asked the men. They nodded in unison.
"Can I have some time to decide?"
"Yes, you can take as much time as you want, but I am sorry, but we cannot let you leave."
"Why not? I have a job."
"Everything has been taken care of. You have been here for four days."
"Four days!" your eyes widened at his words.
"Yes, four days. Jungkook put you out for a long time." the shorter man teased.
"Your job has been notified, but we couldn't get a hold of your family. Usually we are good at finding them, but we couldn't, so if you want to call them, you can." Namjoon said offering you a phone from his pocket.
"No, I don't have any family." you said denying the phone.
"Three years is a short time." Namjoon said placing a hand on your shoulder.
"How did y-" then it clicked. He can read your mind, "Namjoon, if you don't mind. Could you not read my mind, please." you asked him in a soft voice.
"Oh, yes, anything for you Princess." he said moving to the door opening it to release you. You turned and walked out the door stopping in front of Namjoon, "Thank you" you said before continuing out the door.
The hallway outside the door was empty. Medal doors lined the halls reminding you of the door that was in the first room that you occupied. You heard a noise coming from the end of the hall. It sounded of people talking, but one door peaked your interest. The door was cracked with a dim yellow glow shining into the hall. You approached the door peaking in to see what was happening inside.
The room was solid concrete like the rest of the building you were in, but instead of a deep blue like Jungkook's room, this room was decorated with white and yellow. A large fireplace was also horizontal to the bed. A fire flickering. A person sat in front of the fire. You wondered who it was.
You knocked lightly on the door telling the person in the room that you were coming, but they didn't hear you. You walked inside the room toward the person. As you got closer, you noticed that it was Jimin sitting on the floor in front of the fire. He had head phones tucked into his ears. A soft buzz coming from his ears.
Like Jungkook's room, two chairs were seated in front of the fire. You sat down in one still staying behind Jimin. You almost jumped when you heard his voice, but he wasn't talking to you; he was singing.
Whisper in my ear
Do not be like a prey
(Be) Smooth like a snake
Caught in a lie
Caught in a lie
His voice was beautiful. It was soft and high but yet so powerful in itself. It almost brought tears to your eyes. You could feel the pain in his voice, and it pierced your heart like an arrow. When he finished his song, you slithered down the chair and sat beside him.
"Did you like it?" he asked you catching you off guard, "I knew you were there listening." he said with a smile. He had a sweet smile. His smile made your heart melt. Jimin was a pretty boy, and pretty boys are dangerous.
"It was beautiful." you said smiling at Jimin.
"I am glad you like it." he said patting your thigh.
"Hey, why did you protect me?" you asked him actually catching him off guard this time.
"You mean from Tae Tae?" you nodded, "Well, I knew it wasn't his choice, and not to be heartless, but you felt weak. You needed someone to protect you at that time, but now you feel strong." he said.
Were you that see through. How could you seem so weak in a time that you needed to be strong. You let yourself down.
"Hey don't think about it too much." he said giving you another smile, "We all have those moments." This is what you liked about Jimin. He was friendly and helpful. He wasn't like Jungkook who was cocky and controlling. You like Jimin.
"Jimin, why is Jungkook the way he is? Like why is he so controlling. The rest of you seen pretty nice except Tae because he wanted to eat me, but why?"
"Well, I think it is because no one has ever told him no. When we first found him the hundreds of years ago, he was homeless. He was living on the streets of Busan, and he was skinny and practically dying. Yoongi saw something strong in him, so we took him in and gave him the bite. Over night, he changed into something new. He wasn't the little boy from the streets; he was a king. He learned how to use his power to control everyone. He got everything he wanted until Namjoon changed it. Some drastic measures were taken, but now he is manageable. That is why he is just now getting his tattoo. If you hadn't noticed but we all have the phoenix tattooed on us somewhere. It is a symbolism of our family like a brand on cattle. He just recently earned his phoenix." Jimin said. You clung to every word he said. It made a lot of sense now.
"What does the phoenix symbolize?" you asked Jimin.
"We all came from nothing. We were all falling apart in front of our eyes. All husks of what we used to be, but with the bite we have risen from the dead. Better than ever. We are the phoenix."
