"We need to go. We need to get them back," you said, pacing back and forth in front of the living room full of men.
"We aren't ready, Y/n," Hongjoong said, holding his hand up, freezing you in your spot.
"What do you mean?" you said, throwing your hands around.
"Look around," you looked around the room. Wolves leaned against walls or lied over the couch and floors covered in cuts and bruises. Wooyoung and Jongho sat closely together, slowly healing. He was right. "We are too weak," Even Hongjoong seemed defeated.
"Then what are we going to do?" you said, sitting down on the white couch next to Yunho. He wrapped his arm around you, kissing the side of your head.
"We will regroup and heal. Then we will make a plan. Nothing will happen to them; they are too important. I promise," Hongjoong said. He placed a hand on your knee. You weren't satisfied. You wanted to get them back now. You wanted to just be with them. You wanted to help them, but you were too weak. You were all too weak.
"Okay," you said softly.
You buried your face into your hands. You felt so trapped. You felt like you were stuck in a box that you weren't able to escape. You just wanted to shrivel up and turn into an empty husk. You felt something soft brush against your arm. You looked up from your palms. Your wings wrapped around you in a comforting hug. Yunho was also pulled inside your cocoon of feathers. He had his arms wrapped around your shoulders with his head buried into your shoulder.
"Yunho, what if I can't do this?"
He raised his face from your shoulder, looking you in the eye. He brought his hand up, cupping your face. "I know you can do this. You are strong."
"No, I am still so weak. I am not at my full potential."
"Don't think like that," He ran his thumb over your cheek, "You are way stronger than you could ever know,"
"But how will I ever be able to use it or know what to do with it if I don't know if I have it," You were starting to get frustrated.
Yunho looked down into his lap and let out a deep sigh; he rested his hand on your thigh as he rubbed your leg softly. "You have to be confident in yourself."
"I can't. I need San. I need Jooheon. I need someone. I need something," You wanted to throw something. You felt anger boiling inside of you. You couldn't take it anymore.
"You have me," his voice was weak and small.
You pushed your palms against your temples. Your head wanted to explode. You didn't know what to do. All you wanted was that connection. All you wanted was that power. That electricity.
"I need Shownu," Your eyes met Yunho's' and everything was red. You saw Yunho physically slump. Your wings opened up, and you stood up from the couch. You felt Yunho's hand go limp and fall from your lap.
"I knew something was different," Yunho looked at you. His eyes were red over their own. They were wet with tears, "You have made your choice. Our spark ran out a long time ago," You watched as a tear rolled down his cheek, and in the blink of an eye, he was gone. The front door slammed against the doorframe, shaking the entire house.
You looked forward, trying to distract your mind. This was when you noticed tears running down your face. "What happened?" Mingi asked, leaning forward from the couch. Hongjoong shushed him with his hand. You felt every eye on you as you stared straight ahead. You slowly turned toward the stairs. Your steps were uneasy, but stable as you quickly made your way away from the others.
Your chest felt hot, and your head pounded. You stepped into your room. You looked at the bed, but you couldn't. That was where you and Yunho slept. Yunho felt it. He knew it the whole time. He felt the loss of spark. He knew something was wrong. The magic was gone. You stumbled to the middle of the room, falling to your knees.
You doubled over letting out a scream that tore at your vocal cords. "I can't do this," you whispered after you finished. You collapsed onto the floor. All your energy had been drained. Your face was pressed against the shag rug, rubbing your cheek raw as your body shook with sobs.
You heard a small click behind you of the door shutting. You sat up and turned to the door. Shownu stood in the doorway, "Sometimes I forget that you are a phoenix," He walked over to you, crouching beside you, "You are more of an angel in my eyes."
"An angel?" you whispered.
He nodded his head. He raised his hand, placing it on your cheek, wiping away the tears that clung to your skin, "A weeping angel is the deadliest and most powerful thing to grace this earth, and here she sits in my hands. In my hands, is the beginning or end of this world and it is beautiful."
