"What should I do, Sophie? I told him last night that I'm falling in love with him!" Summer screeched to the phone as her free hand ran through her hair out of stress and tug it at the end.
"You did?" Sophie gaped at the end. She was really shocked because Summer wasn't really a type of person who would bluntly telling someone if she liked him.
"Well, not directly. I told him that I met this guy and I'm falling in love with him every single day and I'm pretty sure that the look on my face when I told him, giving him the hint that he's the guy," Summer rambled. She plopped down to the couch where Calum had previously slept on.
He had went back to Claire's house this morning after he woke up. He didn't talk much to Summer, just thanking her for allowing him to stay then he took off without even saying a goodbye to Summer. With that, Summer already could conclude that he knew and it quite bothered him.
Sophie didn't say a word for a minute. Summer even checked her phone if she was still on the line or not. "I don't think he knows, Summer," Sophie finally said.
"Why?"
"Well," Sophie sighed. "Boys can be oblivious most of the time- just like girls. Although, you have confessed indirectly that you were in love with him, it doesn't mean that he got the hint immediately," she explained.
Summer pursed her lips, trying to understand what Sophie meant. "So, you think he still doesn't know until now?"
"Nope." Even from the other line, Summer could tell that Sophie herself doubted her own answer.
"You don't even believe in yourself," Summer pointed out, rolling her eyes even though Sophie couldn't see her. "So, tell me. Does he know or what? Because he was acting really weird this morning and I don't know what to do after this," she said frustratedly.
Sophie scoffed from the other line. "Geez, calm down. How the hell do I know if he knows or not? He hasn't told me anything yet. In fact, he hasn't called me-" Then, Sophie stopped talking.
Summer scrunched her eyebrows. "What did you say?" Summer asked her best friend.
Summer heard Sophie laughed nervously and forcefully from the other line. Something was up, Summer could tell it. Sophie always did this kind of thing when she accidentally said something that supposed to say.
"Nothing," Sophie denied quickly, only adding Summer's suspicion towards her best friend. "I was just talking to Daniel. I didn't know that you have finished your words." She added that little forced nervous laugh at the end.
"I don't believe you-"
"Whoops, I gotta go now. It's already late in here and I have to sleep now because I'm already tired. Have a good day, Summer. Bye," Sophie interrupted Summer quickly then she ended the call.
Summer gasped then looked at her phone screen. "She did not," she said in shocked, still couldn't believe that Sophie had just hung up the phone before they could finish the conversation.
Summer quickly typed a message to Sophie. 'I hate you. We still need to talk about your little slip up. I know there's something suspicious that you hide from me!'
Just as Summer tapped the send button, someone rang the bell. Summer glanced to the clock, finding out that it was 8.45. The Hoods were still asleep, except Mali Koa who had decided to go to the public pool on the twelfth floor of this apartment building. She wondered if Calum went back to the apartment because he had left something in here. She pushed herself to stand up from the comfy couch and took a long stride to the door. She opened it to find a happy looking Claire.
