Summer's eyes fluttered opened as the sunlight hit her face. She groaned lowly and felt something heavy wrapped around her body. She turned on her side and surprised when she saw Calum was sleeping beside her with his arms wrapped around her.
He slept so peacefully and almost looked like an innocent child. Summer was really sure that her cheeks were as red as a tomato by now because of the close distance between them. She tried to back away, giving some safe space between them but it only resulted Calum to pull her closer to him until she pressed her cheek to his chest.
The blush on her cheeks redder if it was even possible. She struggled to back away again but Calum only strengthened his grip around her waist. Summer swore at that moment she felt her heart was beating really fast like it'd never happened before. She chose to give in and try to lean forward, pressing her ear to the place where his heart should be.
She could hear the faint and steady beating of his heart. It made her feel calm. She had to fight every fibre in her so she wouldn't snuggle closer again to him and wrapped her arms around him.
After a few minutes, Calum's hands loosened but they were still around her. She moved his hands slowly so he wouldn't woke up and got up from the bed. She looked back at Calum who was squirming on the bed. She reached out to his black hair and brushed it softly like she would always do to her nieces and nephews when they were asleep.
Summer could see a faint smile crept on his face and she smiled back to it even though he couldn't see it. She wanted to see this side of him- happy and calm- not like what he used to be like last night. It pained her to see him broken.
She retreated her hand and began to walk nearer her vanity. She looked at her reflection on the mirror and that's when she realized that she didn't put any pants on. She blushed again and began to curse under her breath about how she was being stupid. She went to the closet, pulled out a denim short and wore it before she walked out of her bedroom to make some breakfast for her and for the black haired boy.

Summer was busy making some pancakes when she heard some foot steps were coming towards the kitchen. She looked up to see Calum was awkwardly standing near the kitchen island. She smiled to him. "Good morning," she greeted sweetly, still with a smile on her face.Calum gave her a lopsided grin at her and rubbed the back of his neck rather awkwardly. "Good morning. Uhm- thank you for the medicine and the water," Calum said.
Summer smiled again. She'd put some medicine and a bottle of water in her room for Calum before she cooked breakfast. She'd thought that he would need it for his hangover. "No problem, Cal. So, how are you feeling right now?"
"I'm feeling much better now," Calum shrugged before he plopped down to the red comfy couch in the living room which was adjacent to the kitchen and the dining room. He turned on the tv and went through some channels until he stopped at some sport channel.
After Summer put the last pancake to Calum's plate, she put two plates of pancakes and two glasses of milk on a tray before she brought it to the living room and put it on the table. They had breakfast with no words shared. The only voice that filled the room was from the tv.
"Aren't you gonna ask me about what happened that night?" Calum asked Summer curiously. He'd been waiting for her to ask him about the event that had happened a few nights ago.
"Claire has told me everything," Summer replied with a shrug.
Calum raised his eyebrows. "Oh. Aren't you gonna ask me anything?" He asked again. It was really weird to see Summer acted like this- She was usually curious about everything.
