Janae P.O.V.

"Hello everyone I'm Alix." she said walking in.

I'm not no hating ass hoe so I give props when it's due. This girl was gorgeous. She stood about 5'5 with long hair pulled back into a neat bun.

I would never see someone like her being a gang member. More like a model.

"I'll be here whenever you need me. Any information you need. My number should be programmed to all of your phones."

What the hell?

I looked down at my phone going through my contacts and sure enough there she was.

"Amazing right?" Jay whispered.

I didn't respond.

"Aight y'all can go. We'll hit you up when it's time to move." Trey said.

Everyone filed out of the room leaving me, Jayden, and Alix.

"So you're the lucky lady who stole little Jay from me." she said approaching me with her arm extended for a handshake.

"From you?" I said looking at her like she was crazy.

"Aw what happens in Harlem, stays in Harlem..." she said chuckling.

I turned to look at Jay then stood up.

Jay had this guilty ass expression on his face. "Um okay." I said walking to the door.

"Wait, Nae." Jay said running behind me.

I paused to listen to what he had to say.

"She's just a friend."

"Right." I said rolling my eyes and walking toward my office. I slammed it and locked it before he could come in.

I picked up Jalynn and sat on the couch with her.

I don't know why but I just feel like that wasn't just a friend. I didn't want to talk about it. I heard the door turn and it opened. I forgot he had a key.

"Look at me." he said sitting down with me and wrapping his arm around me. "It's no reason for you to be worried. I swear she was just someone I worked with."

"Really? So what happened in Harlem?"

He sighed. "Look. It was only a few times."

"Of course." I said rolling my eyes.

"You told me when you left you only thought about coming home to me. You said there was nobody else."

"There was nobody else. It happened a few times in the moment. It didn't mean anything."

"In the moment." I said sarcastically. "Right."

"Nae come on we need her help."

"Whatever. Ima start bring the niggas I fucked to help me and see how the fuck you like it."

"Who Adrian? Or Blue. I doubt it Nae." he said with an attitude. I could tell by the look on his face that he instantly regretted it.

It was too late. I blinked back the tears from my face and got up. I can't believe he just said that.

"Nae I didn't mean it."

"You meant it. It's cool though." I said grabbing the keys and my purse and the baby bag and picked up my daughter and left out.

I threw my shit in the back and started putting Jalynn in her carseat. Jay was behind me tryna explain himself.

"Nae chill. I'm sorry."
