"Baby." Quis said walking into the room handing me a Chick Fil A bag.
I looked up at him.
"Thank you."
"You feeling better?"
I nodded.
"I been calling you. Where your phone?"
I pointed across the room at my shattered phone I'd thrown at the wall earlier.
He sighed laying next to me wrapping his arm around me as tears started to fall again.
"I just don't get why he's so mad. He should be happy for me."
"He gon come around."
We heard the doorbell so he got up to go get the door.
A few seconds later Vae was in the doorway.
I stood up as she came over to hug me. We were both in tears now.
"I miss you." she said holding me.
"I miss you more."
"Are you okay?" she asked me.
"No."
"I called you."
"I broke my phone."
"I figured. That's why I brought you this." she said handing me a new iPhone box. She went over to my phone on the floor and popped open the sim card tray with her earring putting my sim card in the new phone.
"Vae you really are the best." I said hugging her.
"I want you to come home."
"Dad doesn't want me there." I said sighing.
"He does. Y'all both just stubborn. He walks around there depressed. He misses you."
"He put me out. This is his fault." I said rolling my eyes.
"He was mad that you been lying and sneaking around for over a year. I would put your ass out too. But y'all both need to put this pride aside."
"I'm not breaking up with Quis. I don't care what he says. Quis makes me happy."
"I know sis. I brought you clothes and shoes and some other things I thought you might want." she said handing me two bags.
"Thanks."
"If you want me to bring anything else I'll get it tomorrow."
"Thank you. But I'm good."
"I just wish you could come home."
"He sent me a text yesterday saying he lost all trust in me and some shit about he knows how this is gonna end up. A bunch of shit. That's why I broke the phone. All he cares about is that it's Quis and not somebody else."
