Londyn POV
I sat at the table picking up my phone to check the time for the fourth time tonight. I was big on first impressions and he wasn't leaving a good one. I picked up my wine glass finishing it off and setting it to the side.
About ten minutes later, a tall darkskin man finally came in. His beard complemented his facial structure almost perfectly. The dim lighting in the room still managed to bring out the chocolate brown in his eyes. I let my eyes linger down to his attire. He was dressed in all black, his gold chains sitting on top standing out along with his watch. I didn't realize I was staring until he slid in the booth across from me allowing me to catch a small breeze of his cologne.
"I'm sorry I'm late. Londyn, right?"
16 minutes late.
"Hi. Dee?" I asked.
"You can call me Darius." he said flashing a smile showing off his perfect teeth.
I looked over him. Instinctively, I thought of all the ways I could kill him. It was a habit I couldn't break. Whenever I meet someone new all of their weaknesses stand out.
"You good?" he asked me.
I nodded. A waitress approached the table pouring iced water in our glasses.
"Good evening my name is Brooklyn and I'll be your server today. Can I start you off with a drink."
"We'll have two glasses of the aged Cabernet Franc."
I looked over at him shocked. One of my biggest peeves was people thinking they know me when they don't. I looked back at the waitress. "Actually I prefer my wine white. Can I have the Sauvignon Blanc?" I said and she nodded.
"Sure. Would you like some soup or salad to start with?"
"Your house salad sounds good." I answered and looked at Darius.
"I'll have the same." he said and with that the waitress was gone.
"I didn't mean to be rude." I said breaking the awkward silence.
"It's okay I get it. You like what you like." he said. "So tell me about you, Londyn."
Before I could even speak his phone went off and he really pulled it out to check it.
"Hold on I have to take this." he said and I leaned back shocked.
I played with my bracelet as I waited for him to finish his conversation, trying not to eavesdrop.
When he hung up he sighed sliding his phone back in his pocket.
At this point the date was already over. His lack of punctuality and consideration being strikes one and two. I folded my arms in my lap just as the waitress came with our drinks.
