Londyn POV
the next evening..

I sat downstairs alone in the dark wrapped in a blanket.

I went through old videos of me and Tae. I clicked on one where he was smiling.

"Y'all look at my fine ass baby mama." he said moving the camera showing me in the middle of eating a slice of pizza. 

I turned to mug him before slapping the back of his head. "Stop fucking playing with me!"

"She hate when I call her that." he said shaking his head. "Aight this my fine ass mother of my daughter." he said moving the camera closer to my face.

"Mooove Tae." I said pushing it away.

The video ended and I wiped tears that fell seeing his smiling face.

I kept going finding another video.

If It Isn't Love by New Edition played in the background as I recorded us doing the dance.

When he brought his hand around he accidentally hit me in my face and instinctively grabbed my arms knowing I was bout to hit him back.

"I'm sorry." he said before we both busted out laughing.

"You scary as shit." I said pushing him away.

"You hit hard." he said.

"Move you messin up my video." I said walking up to the camera to end it.

I sighed looking at the paused screen showing him looking at me smiling.

I found a video we made trying to be youtubers that we never posted.

"Tae can you be serious. For one minute." I said rolling my eyes.

"Bae I'm being serious. What's the next question."

I sucked my teeth scrolling through my phone. "When did y'all know you loved each other?" I asked eating another chip.

He sucked his teeth. "You go first."

I sighed. "Umm I don't know when it happened. Because I used to hate him. I guess just seeing him be a dad. And the effort he was putting in."

"Y'all she ain't never wanna admit she was in love with me. Playing hard to get."

"No I just didn't trust your cheating ass."

He turned to mug me. "Man how many times I gotta tell you I didn't cheat."

I busted out laughing. "Anyways. Your turn."

He was about to speak but was interrupted by Aniya crying.

"I'll be back." I said getting up and moving toward the door.

I watched Tae as he turned and waited for me to go out the door before stealing my chips.

"Y'all she be so stingy with all her food. But always wanna eat off my shit. But I love her though. And she gon give me five more kids."

"Who you talkin to?" I asked walking back into the room sitting in front of the camera with Aniya in my lap.

"I ain't even say nothing." he said kissing Aniya's forehead.

"Mm. Anyways what was the que- nigga you ate my chips?" I asked picking up the almost empty bag.

I sucked my teeth. "Video over that just pissed me off." I said reaching up ending the video.

I wiped the tears off of my face. He was lying he ate my shit more than I ate his.

I went to our last video together. Aniya's birthday party.

Tae held the camera showing me, him and Niy Niy as he held her.

"Happy birthday boogie." I said kissing her then Tae.

"Nooo." she yelled pushing my face away saying her favorite word.

"She don't want me to kiss you." I said laughing kissing him again.

"No!" she yelled hitting me.

"Aye! Chill out." Tae said turning her away so she couldn't reach me.

"Niy Niy why you being mean?" I asked and she whined.

"Hmm gimme kiss." Tae said poking his lips out and she gave him a kiss.

I smiled at how cute she is before she held out her lips to me giving me a kiss. "Thank you boogie." I said smiling. "Her bipolar ass." I said moving out of the camera view and Tae ended it.

I just wished I could hold him one more time. It doesn't even feel right. One minute he's here and the next he's not.

I feel like it's my fault. I invited him to my uncle's house. He could still be alive right now.

I just don't understand how this could happen to me. How it could happen to Aniya.

I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and saw India holding Aniya.

She came and sat next to me. Neither of us said a word.

"I'm so sorry." she said as Aniya crawled around to my lap.

"This doesn't feel real. Tae didn't do nothing."

"I know." she said. "If you wanna talk or anything you know I'm here."

"Mama up." Aniya said reaching for my shirt.

I pulled her to my chest and she wrapped her arm around my neck in a tight, much-needed hugs.

"Ma and them just left. I really want you to come up. Eat something."

I sighed and followed her upstairs.

As soon as I appeared in the door all eyes were on me.

Milly got up hugging me. "You okay?"

I shook my head and wiped away some tears that spilled out.

"I'm so sorry mama." she said and I just sighed moving to the couch next to Chase.

He didn't say anything to me pulling me into a hug as we laid on the couch.

A movie played and I focused my mind on that, a temporary distraction.

Twan walked in the house with Micah behind him.

"Did they find them?" Maya asked and Twan nodded.

"Yeah. They're dead. All of them."

"Find who?" I asked.

"People who took Micah's mom. Got Maya shot. They were all out for some revenge. They're all dead now."

My whole body started shaking as I broke down crying again. I couldn't help myself trying to understand. But I couldn't. Tae died for nothing.

I wiped my face trying to recover.
