"Janae? Oh my god!"
"Hey Desi." I said with tears in my eyes. I really missed her.
Desiree was one of my best friends in college. She helped me get over Jay by teaching me how to have fun. She was also how I met Adrian, that's her cousin. We were all really close. She knows what happened and she didn't pick sides. It was no hard feelings. We kept up with each other through social media.
"This must be Jalynn. Wow. You look so good."
"Thanks."
"Janae it's 4am are you okay?"
"I needed to get away. I promise I'll explain everything tomorrow." I said shifting Jalynn to my other shoulder.
"Okay you guys can sleep in the guest room." she said showing me down the hallway.
"Thanks. Goodnight."
"Night."
I didn't sleep much. A few hours later Jalynn was up.
I turned on Paw Patrol on her iPad so I could sleep a while longer.
Eventually I just got up and went to the bathroom to get us cleaned up. When we were dressed I went downstairs finding Desi making pancakes.
"Good morning." I said.
"Hey boo. Hey cutie."
Jalynn was actin shy burying her face in my neck. I kissed her til she came up.
"Y'all hungry?" Desi said turning the stove off.
"Eat eat mama." Jalynn whined.
"Yes you can eat eat." I said setting her down in a chair.
I made her plate and sat with her in my lap since she didn't have a high chair. She wasn't paying us no mind watching her ipad with her headphones.
"So what brings you way down here?" Desi asked.
"Umm I just started driving. And didn't stop."
"What happened?"
"Got into it with Jay. I really don't wanna talk about what happened because then I'll cry."
She looked at me and sighed. "Well you can stay here as long as you want. I have to go to work but I'll be back at 7 okay? I'll leave a spare key right here in case you go somewhere."
"Thanks Des." She grabbed her purse and headed out.
After we ate I washed up me and Jalynn's dishes. I went upstairs finding my phone blown up.
Literally everybody was calling me. Right then Jay called again on FaceTime. I answered it and handed it to Jalynn.
"Dada." she babbled into the phone I guess when his face popped out.
"Nae where the f- oh hey princess."
"Dada bye bye." she said hanging up the phone. I couldn't help but smirk because I know he was pissed. He called back and I answered this time.
"Yes?"
"Where the fuck you at?"
"It's not your business."
"It is if you got my fuckin daughter."
I rolled my eyes. "I came up to North Carolina."
"Who the fuck you know in N-.. Nae I know ya ass not with Adrian."
I mugged him. "You just saying anything. Why would I be with him."
"Then who the fuck are you with? Why the fuck you actin so slow? You don't know nobody else up there."
