XLI. Enough

Janae P.O.V.

I walked in the house from the nail salon and it was dead quiet.

"Babe!" I yelled trying to figure out where everyone is.

There was no answer.

I looked in the backyard and saw Jay's tshirt on the ground on the basketball court. I rolled my eyes. Since when do we just leave shit on the ground.

I walked outside to pick it up and bring it in the house.

I walked around still not seeing anybody.

"Jay!" I yelled again walking toward the stairs. I set my purse and keys down by the door and walked upstairs.

I walked into Jalynn's room not seeing anybody. What the hell?

I walked to Cam's room and the lights were still off and I was turning to head out when I heard a noise in the closet.

I walked over finding Cam and Jalynn curled up in a ball.

"Mommy you gonna ruin our spot." Jalynn whined.

"Hello to you too, mamas." I said kissing her forehead.

"Hey, ma." Cam said as I hugged him. "Hide with us." he said pulling me down.

"Where's daddy?" I asked.

"He looking for us." Jalynn said.

"He looking for y'all?"

This house big but not that big.

"Yes he said hide and don't come out til he find us." Jalynn said smiling.

I stood up trying to understand. Something isn't right.

I reached behind his dresser pulling out a gun. "Stay in there." I said behind me.

I walked down the hallway to our room with my gun extended.

"Oh my god." I said when I opened the door.

I ran over to Jay who was tied up on the bed. He yelled something but I couldn't understand it because he had tape on his mouth.

"Who did this?" I asked trying to get the knots out.

I looked at him only to see him grunting looking past me. I turned around to see what he was looking at only to be hit hard in the head with something.

Everything went black.

The next day

Brianna P.O.V.

"Hello?" I said into the phone when I picked it up.

"Aunt Bri something happened to them."

"Happened to who?" I asked setting down the knife I was cutting potatoes with.

"There's blood. We were playing hide and seek."

"Cam where is Jalynn."

"In the closet."

"Go in there with her don't come out okay."

"Okay."

I hung up and ran upstairs finding Trey getting dressed.

"Baby go to Nae's. Right now. Something's wrong."

"What you mean something's wrong?"

"Cam just called me. Said they were playing hide and seek and now there's blood. I don't know."
