Jalynn POV

Therapy: Week 1

"Hi. My name is Dr. Carter and you are?"

"Jalynn."

"It's nice to meet you. What brings you by today?"

"I need help." I said as tears fell through my eyes.

"I'll start this off by informing you about our patient confidentiality agreement. Anything you say stays between us unless I feel like you are a danger to yourself. Is that okay with you?"

I nodded.

"Okay good. What do you need help with?"

"There's something wrong with me."

"Why do you think that?" she asked crossing her legs and leaning back a little.

"Because I'm losing my mind. And I don't know what else to do."

"Okay, Jalynn. Take your time." she said handing me some tissue. "When did this start?"

I took a deep breath. "Two months ago."

"What happened two months ago?"

"I got shot." I said looking down at the ground as some tears fell.

She looked over me before pulling out a notebook and writing some things down.

"What made you choose therapy?"

"Someone told me that I needed it."

"Who did?"

"Rah."

"Who is Rah?"

"A friend. Well somebody I knew."

"They're not your friend anymore?"

I shook my head.

"Why not?"

"I got mad at him."

"Why?"

"I don't know. I just don't know why he was trying to help me."

"Well you said he was your friend."

"I know. I don't know why I push him away. I push everyone away."

"You always have or this started with your accident, as well."

"I don't know. I don't let people in close enough to push them away."

"Why is that?"

I sighed trying to figure out how to put my thoughts into words. "Everyone leaves me."

"Can we start from the beginning?"

I nodded.

"Who was the first person to leave you?"

"Bryson." I watched her as she wrote his name down in her notebook. It felt weird reading his name.

"Who was Bryson?"

"My cousin."

"You two were close?"

"He was my other half. We were the same age. Our parents were close. We spent our whole lives together. He was my best friend."

"May I ask what happened to him?"

"He was killed."

"How did that make you feel?"

"I was really sad. And mad. I never experienced somebody close to me dying until then."

"How did you get through it?"
