My own idea:
Anyone and everyone can be reincarnated after death AS LONG as they are able to find
their soulmate.
There are some lovers who keep finding each other in every reincarnated life they get, and some lovers who only found each other in one/a few lives. Those who fail to find their soulmate are turned into neither angels nor demons, but turned into spiritual beings with wings, paired with a bow and arrow. They become a cupid; to which their purpose is to help mortals find their soulmate. For every successful match each cupid makes, the closer they are to becoming reincarnated back to Earth so that they could meet their soulmate again.
Furthermore, each cupid has a unique power in their bow and arrow; with relates to what the cupid values most in a relationship.
Ex. One cupid values trust the most in a relationship, so whenever they shoot their arrow at a person, it helps them realize the importance of trust in their partner, etc.
Ex. Another cupid values patience. Thus, their arrows enhance patient tendencies
in a relationship, etc.
Extra: (another small idea I thought of)
- There's a certain time limit for every cupid. Meaning they can't stay in the 'cupid world' forever without being returned to Earth, where their human spirits truly belong. There's also a certain number of times a cupid should make couples fall in love.
So, a time limit is set up for every cupid identifying how long they can stay in the cupid world for and how many successful pairs they need to achieve in that time limit.
Ex. Couples: 28 Time: 4 years
The time and couple vary for each cupid. This part is flexible, so you (as the writer) are free to decide what factor makes up the years and # of couples each individual cupid has to match.
Example: The # of couples would be the number of heartbreaks the person has caused (doesn't have to be romantic, just a heartbreak that they have caused knowingly or unknowingly as a human) and the years for example, would be the number of crushes they have had on Earth.
Those who couldn't finish their work within the time limit are now in line for either heaven or hell, depending on their deeds as a previous mortal.
(Also, when becoming a cupid, both partners lose their memories as a mortal)
