The Story of Shelby✔️

Some info: this story is the same 'y/n' from 'Terrible Discovery'. This story is about you and Shelby. You'll learn what happened to Shelby and why that 'y/n' acted with such anger. This is kinda different from my other stories so bare with me.

     "Y/n we are only 15 are you sure your parents are ok with this?" Your best friend, Shelby asks.
     "They're ok with us going out, they don't have to know where."
     "Fineeee we'll go. If anything happens don't say I didn't warn you." Shelby laughs, and You join in.
      "Yay thanks Shelby! It's gonna be fun." She grabs her phone and follows you out the door.

      You both walk along some railroad tracks to get to the old abandoned train station. You walked and talked just enjoying the summer evening. Your parents told you to be back by 9 and it's only 5, so you had plenty of time.

You arrive at the station and both you and Shelby look at each other.

"Ready?" You ask.
"Ready." She confirms. You both start your walk.

You enter the station and start looking around. You both walk into the bathroom and smell an absolutely disgusting smell. Right as you turn to leave you see a dead body.

"Oh my gosh, we need to get out of here." You hear Shelby shakily say.
"Agreed." You answer. Shelby calls the police and informs them of what you've seen.

You see movement in the shadows but shrug it off as a rat. Right before you make it to the exit you hear a scream, Shelby's scream. You turn around at the speed of light to see her on the ground unconscious with blood gushing out of her head, and a man running towards you. You put your hands up in defense then hear a gunshot, the man drops dead. You turn around to see a bunch of cops and some paramedics. They rush to Shelby as one of the cops walks over to you.

"Are you ok Miss?" The cop asks.
"Yes sir." You reply respectfully, and shakily.
"You do understand that you were trespassing right?" He clarifies.
"Yes sir." You drop your head in embarrassment then see Shelby being put in the ambulance.
"I need to go with her!" You make a move forward but the cop stops you.
"You have to come with us to the station while we contact her parents and yours." You sigh and follow him to his car.

3 Hours Later

Your mom had gotten you from the police station and scolded you for trespassing. She brought you to the hospital and Shelby was awake. You walked into her room to see her awake and you were immediately filled with relief.

"I'm so glad you're ok." You hug Shelby. She doesn't hug back and you look at her confused.
"Shelby?" You ask.
"Do I know you?" She questions. Your heart shatters at those words.
"It's me, y/n, your best friend." She still looks confused. You sigh and begin to walk out.
"Never mind." You mumble as you leave.

"Sweetie what was that about?" Your mom asks when you get in the car.
"I'm the reason she's hurt, I can't still be her friend if she doesn't remember me." You sigh and look away:
"Sweetie-"
"I don't want to talk about it." You interrupt. Your mom goes silent and you drive home.

2 weeks later

You have only thought about Shelby and prayed she'd be ok. You hadn't seen her since that night and she got released from the hospital a week ago. You hadn't attended school, at your mom's dismay. You still did the work you just didn't go to class.

You were currently laying on your bed thinking about all the fun times you had with Shelby. You played with the necklace around your neck that was a ring matching one Shelby had. Your thoughts were interrupted by your phone ringing. You grabbed it and without looking at the ID, answered.

"Y/n?" You hear Shelby speak on the other end.
"Shelby?" You say in disbelief and sit up.
"Y/n, I remember you, you're my best friend from preschool, I love you." You hear a sniffle and start to cry.
"Shelby I'm so happy you're ok! I love you too. I'm coming over." You grab your shoes and put them on.
"Ok, I'll be waiting." You hear on the other end. There's then a click and you put your phone in your pocket.

"Mom I'm going to Shelby's!" You shout as you bolt out the door. You run the 2 blocks to Shelby's and knock on the door.
"Y/n?" Shelby asks as she opens the door. You leap onto her and give her a big hug.
"I was afraid I lost you." You mumble into her shoulder as you hug her tighter.
"You'll never lose me, that's what happens when you become my friend." You both laugh and enjoy the rest of the night together.
