kaminari hugged shinsou one last time. the 3-a classroom was empty since all the kids left at least twenty minutes ago, it was just the two who were inside now.

a sudden buzz came from shinsou's phone. he pulled out of the embrace of his boyfriend and checked the notification.

it was time for him to go.

"goodbye, hitoshi. have a safe trip, love you,"

"thanks, denki. i will, love you too,"

shinsou left the homeroom and exited the highschool. through the window, kami watched his boyfriend get into the black car waiting for him. when the car drove off, kaminari immediately ran from his homeroom upstairs to the music room.

it was finally summer break. they made it through the rest of the first semester, but those last few months were absolutely dreadful. ever since the day of the sports festival, everything's been off and sort of different.

there was one thing he wished that wasn't different now though.

it was his friendship with jirou.

"jirou!"

sliding the club door open, he felt the disappointment in his chest when he only found bakugou sitting at the drum set.

"sorry to disappoint, but she isn't here," he said.

kami raised an eyebrow, "well you sound calm,"

"oh piss off, i'm trying to control my anger,"

kaminari heavily sighed "okay okay. hey if you see jirou, please tell her to see me, it's really important,"

the ash blonde scoffed and turned away, "whatever, dunce face,"

kaminari slid the door shut and ran off. as soon as he left, bakugou lifted his head and faced the grand piano in the back corner, which was being covered by two large velvet curtains. he threw one of his drum sticks as if it were to be a signal.

"thanks, bakuhoe,"

"tch. what's going on, emo bitch,"

kaminari sat in the common area of the dorms, watching some random tv show that was playing. it's not like he was paying attention though, more things were on his mind. in all honesty, he was stressed; more than he thought he would've been. the day of the sports festival certainly was weird since he never interacted with jirou the entire time, but every glance he took when he saw her that day, it looked like she didn't even care at all.

he tried to brush it off that night, but the next day and every other day following it was the same; jirou didn't talk to him or even yaoyorozu, unless they said something first. however yaoyorozu looked like she wasn't bothered by it or something like that, but she had the chance to try and talk to her in band as well. it was different for kaminari; because shinsou was around he couldn't get a good time. the only times he could try was in class, but she looked and sounded uninterested every time he tried.

so kaminari just stopped trying.

it was like that for the remaining months of first semester and it was tearing him apart. all kami wanted to do was talk to his best friend like usual, but it wouldn't happen. he had a feeling it was shinsou's doing, but never confronted him or jirou.

except, he had a chance now.

shinsou was gone for the entire summer with family for vacation and he knew jirou wasn't leaving for somewhere any time soon. he wasn't leaving anywhere either.
