(With Sonic and Rouge)

The two worried modians were in Rouge's white car on their way to the hospital. The car fell silent until Rouge stopped at a red light.

Sonic saw she was visibly shaking while she gripped the wheel.

"It will be okay Rouge. I got to him before he fully digested the pills." Sonic comforted.

"You should have called the paramedics right away. Your lucky I did." Rouge spat.

"I'm sorry, I just wanted to..."

"Jump into situations without thinking! Do you even realize that it could have been too late before you arrived!"

"I know I screwed up okay! But I wasn't too late! I just saved his life!" Sonic yelled.

Rouge fell silent as tears filled her eyes.

"Rouge, I'm sorry. I'm worried about him too. You're right. I do jump into things without thinking and I should have-"

"No, *sniff* It's okay. At least we know it wasn't too late. I'm sorry I snapped at you."

"It's fine. I understand how you feel. But this isn't the time to argue about us. We need to focus on being there for Shadow."

Rouge nodded and wiped away her tears. "I hope he'll be okay..."

"Me too."

(A few minutes later)

Rouge parked by the hospital and the two mobians rushes inside.

There was a purple mongoose nurse in white at the front desk. "May I help you both?" She asked.

"Y-Yes, my friend was supposed to be brought here. He tried to..." Rouge couldn't finish her sentence.

Sonic felt horrible for her. "He tried to *whispers to lady* commit suicide.." He said.

The nurse face contorted into a apologetic frown. "I'm so sorry. I'll check the recent ambulance routes and arrivals." She said and logged into her computer.

Sonic noticed Rouge was shaking once again. He gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Is your friend a black and red hedgehog?" The nurse asked.

"Yes!" Sonic and Rouge said in unison.

"Room 103, second room on the left. I hope everything goes alright for you both." The nurse directed.

"Thank you so much." Sonic said as he lead Rouge to the room.

The walked and searched for the room until Rouge spotted the room number. "There it is." She said.

"Good, let's go." Sonic was about to open the door until he saw Rouge back away. "Rouge?"

"I-I don't know if I can do this...I let him down! If I had watched him more closely he wouldn't have done this!" Rouge cried.

Sonic slowly went up to Rouge and hugged her. "You shouldn't blame yourself for all of this Rouge. Shadow looks up to you as sister and I know he wouldn't want you to blame yourself for what he did. Right now, we stay strong and get Shadow through this."

Rouge's tears began to halt as she pulled herself together.

Sonic let her go. "You okay?"

"Not really, but Shadow is a brother to me. He's all I have. I can't loose him like this."

"All the more reason to get him through this mess."

Rouge let herself give a sad smile and nodded.

Sonic opened the rooms door...
