Norman's pov
The phone in my hand became as heavy as a cement block as my body became as cold as ice listening to my screaming fiancé in the background. My breathing became heavy as I quickly hung up the phone and turned to Andy and Steven.
"What's wrong?" Andy asked.
"I gotta go! Kayla's in labor" I said.
"What are you waiting for get out of here" Steven urged.
"We'll be right behind ya" Andy added.
I nodded and ran as fast as I could to my bike. I didn't even care that I was still in character and had blood all over me. Finally reaching my bike, I hopped on and turned the key. The motor started making a strange sound I have never heard before. Like a rustling noise. It wasn't starting. My heart began to beat faster as I cursed out loud. I kicked the kick stand back up and got off the bike looking over it trying to find any source of he problem. This would happen when my girl is in labor.
"Shit! Ya gotta be kidding me!" I growled.
"Hey man ya alright?" I turned seeing Andy.
"Nah the damn bike ain't starting. Can I hitch a ride with you?" I asked worried.
"Ya c'mon let's go!" He yelled.
I ran over to him and we both got into the car. My heart was beating a million miles a minute. What if I don't make it in time? What if I miss the birth of my baby girl? Kayla would kill me, what if something's wrong? She isn't due for a few more weeks. I quickly shake that thought from my head. I can't think of that right now. I turned to look at Andy as we sped out of set. Both of us still dressed as our characters. Damn won't the hospital staff have some stories to tell. Andy kept the pedal to the floor the whole way to the hospital. Unfortunately that wasn't fast enough for me. I needed to be there. By her side. Now. I tried to control my breathing before I hyperventilated. We were doing good and were almost to the hospital when we came across a stand still on the highway. My heart beat began to pound as I looked over to Andy worriedly,
"Andy" I gritted.
He was looking back and forth in his rearview mirrors, looking for anyway to get around it.
"Andy" I gritted again.
"I'm sorry man I'm trying! I don't see a way through!" He replied worried.
My heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. I looked around seeing no way through either. Thinking things over in my mind, realizing the hospital was just around the corner and probably a 10 minute walk. 5 if I ran it. Without another thought I opened the door and got out.
"What the hell are you doing!" Andy exclaimed.
"I'm gonna run for it! I'll meet ya there!" I yelled.
"You can't just run out in public, yer gonna get noticed!" He said.
" don't care man! Got a baby on the way!" I yelled closing the door and started running without letting him answer.
I ran Inbetween cars as fast as I could. Some people started honking and I even heard a few people scream my name. I couldn't stop now though. I was so set on getting to that hospital. I probably looked like a crazy person running in-between traffic all bloodied and bruised. After what felt like forever the hospital came in view. I was breathing heavy as I grew exhausted from my run. I entered the hospital and I heard many gasps as people saw my appearance. A nurse even tried helping me, but I pushed her away and ran to the delivery department. I was being chased by nurses and doctors thinking I was some lunatic, but I didn't stop for nothin. I entered the delivery department waiting room and looked around.
"Dad!" I heard a small voice off to my right.
Turning Mingus and Sean were running to me. I was breathing heavily and completely worn out. Mingus had tears in his eyes as he reached me and embraced me in a hug. I hugged back and looked at sean,
"She ok?"
Before he could answer a doctor came to his side and his eyes widened when he looked at me,
"You the father?"
I nodded and he said,"I need you to come with me right away"
