Wesley's POV
I woke up and instantly started bugging Keaton. I want to know where he was last night because he's acting suspicious.
"Keaton, just tell me! Is it bad or something?" I said annoyed.
"No, it's not Wes, but it's just not your business," he muttered walking away.
I could tell he was seconds from bursting. I decided to try one more time. I followed him to his room and was right behind him.
"Were you with a girl?" I asked pushing his buttons. He flared his nostrils and let out a deep breath. He turned to face me and he looked pissed.
"Yes Wesley, I was. And you know who it was? Laney. She was upset because of you. So if you care so much about where I was, maybe you should try and not hurt every girl you fucking run into," he spit out slamming his door in my face.
What is he talking about? I thought she was sick?
"Keaton, open up." I demanded jiggling the handle. He finally opened and let me in.
"What are you talking about? What did I do to her?"
"You asked her to the movies right?" He said calming down a little. I nodded waiting for him to continue.
"Did you want it to be a date?" He asked.
"Why does it matter to you?" I knew he liked her. I didn't want to tell him I asked her on a date.
"Because she thought it was, but apparently she went out to lunch with her brother and sister and saw you with another girl. So now she thinks that it was just a joke or something. She was embarrassed and said she was stupid to think anyone liked her."
"Shit, it was Carly. It was nothing I swear. She just-" he cut me off.
"You shouldn't be telling me this. And don't expect to keep getting chances with Laney. She's not one of those girls that always goes back," he said sternly. I gave him a slight nod and went to get ready for the day.
I got out of the shower and threw some clothes on. I wanted to go over to Laney's and apologize. I grabbed my car keys and headed over to Laney's.
I knocked on the door and a young girl answered. Andrea.
"Uh, is Laney here?" I asked looking around.
"Lane! Someone's here for you, again," she yelled up the stairs. I heard her yell something back and Andrea ran up the stairs leaving me there at the door.
"She's sick," Andrea breathed out while running back down.
"I know she's not, can I just go talk to her?" I rolled my eyes. She let me in and I went upstairs. I found her room, and her laying face down on the bed. I slowly knocked on the already open door.
"I already told you, tell him I'm sick," she groaned not looking up. She let out a fake cough and sighed.
"Tell who you're sick?" I smirked crossing my arms. Her head shot up from her pillow and her face turned red.
"Oh, uh, my dad. He wanted me to go to church with him," she hesitantly said.
"Sure," I chuckled going and sitting in a chair by her bed.
"Why are you here?" She asked slowly.
"Look, yesterday, I know you weren't sick-"
"Keaton told you didn't he?" She sighed hiding her face in her hands.
"It wasn't his fault. I kept pushing him and he blew up."
"Don't worry about it. Whatever he said was supposed to stay between him and me, so just forget everything he told you," she said ashamed. She wouldn't look me in the eyes. I felt so bad by this point.
