Chapter 32: back to Washington

In the past few weeks, we stayed on the base, helping around until it was time to go back to Washington. Sunny wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pecked my head softly. "Drive with me," he whispered.

I smiled and nodded "Alright..." I whispered. "Yeah, sure! I agree!" Sideswipe snapped sarcastically while rolling his eyes. I huffed and walked over to my grandmother thanking her and saying goodbye before I walked back to Sunny. Again he kissed my head softly, making me warm inside.

Sideswipe growled and stormed over to his alt-mode, but we both didn't mind much. Sunny hold my hand while he drove back to the base, chatting softly until Sideswipe asked to stop somewhere.

Sunny frowned but pulled over at a gas station. "Why did you wanna stop?" I asked with a frown. Sideswipe grabbed my arm and pulled me closer towards him while looking at Sunny. The yellow mech was annoyed and growled: "You wanted me to stop so she could drive with you!" He spat. Sideswipe said nothing and he only held me against his chest.

"With whom do you wanna drive?" Sideswipe asked finally. "I don't mind much..." my voice died down, there was tension between the two, and I hated it. "Who!" Sunny snapped. "I'll go with Sides! We're half of the way..." I said. "Not true! I still have 1 mile!" He growled angrily. "She chose me! Sucks for you! Guess I have one mile more than you have!" Sideswipe scoffed.

I freed myself from them "if you two don't stop I'll take the train! And don't think I'm not gonna do it cause I will!" I spat. Both looked startled at me "Sideswipe! Since you behave like a child I'll drive with Sunny! And no I'm not gonna argue with you about it!" I snapped before walking over to the Lamborghini.

Sunny sprinted after me after sticking out his tongue to his brother. "Same for you!" I growled angrily. Sunstreaker avoided my eyes and hopped in as well. The drive was quiet, he grasped my hand "Don't be mad at me," he said softly. I glanced at him and sighed "It's fine," I muttered. He smiled and pecked my cheek quickly.

When we arrived at the base, the twins transformed, Sunny held me in his servo and softly stroked my head before he looked at Ironhide "Good you two are back!" he said with a small nod. Sideswipe gave a fake smile and skated after his brother, looking down at me "Are you still mad at me?" he asked worriedly.

"No!" I grunted. "But you sound angry!" he noticed trying to snitch me out of Sunny's hand but the golden twin simply pulled his servo away and shot his brother a glare. "What is wrong with asking!" he snapped. "Can I please have her for a sec?" SIdeswipe grunted. Sunny carefully handed me over to his brother "I'll be right back! Ratchet wants to see me! don't screw it up!" he growled sternly at his twin.

Sideswipe waved him away and looked down at me "Okay... I am just curious, I had been thinking about something you told me a couple of weeks ago!" he said. I frowned "you need to be more specific, I said more," I said sarcastically. Sideswipe stopped skating "You seem to be closer to my brother, but you told me you couldn't love anyone else than your love," he said.

"I know... and I still love him!" I sighed. "right..." he muttered. I met his optics again "Who is it?" he asked softly. "You don't know it and it's not important," I told him. "Why not! I want to know who it is!" he said. I sighed softly and studied his face "Just... tell me more about him! I know you already did it but I want to know more about him!" he said while skating over to an empty hanger.

He placed me on a ridge so I couldn't escape and so I was on eye level with him. "You said he was perfect, sweet, funny, a little bit arrogant..." he said. I saw interest in his bright blue optics. "Swipes.... please, I don't wanna talk about it!" I told him. "Please..." he pleaded with me. "Why is this so important for you?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Cause... I-... you know I-" his voice died down and shook his helm,- avoiding my eyes. "maybe there are others who want to make a change," he said finally. I huffed "Why would someone want me!?" I scoffed. "Don't say that!" Sideswipe said.

"Come on Sides... the one I love the most, rejected me and I don't wanna risk it that he will dump me in the end, and I know it will happen cause I am not good enough, he proved that more than once," I sighed sadly.

Sideswipe turned his helm to one side, trying to process what I just told him. "But... can't you talk to him?" he asked. I shrugged my shoulders "It doesn't matter Sideswipe... I don't wanna get hurt and I don't want to hurt him," I said. Sideswipe's eyes dimmed a little "It's fine Sideswipe," I sulked.

SIdeswipe vented deeply "what would tell him if you had the chance?" he asked suddenly, very curious. "I would tell him... that he's my whole world, the one I love the most, the one I want to spend the rest of my life with because he makes me happy," I said finally.

Sideswipe studied me like he tried to understand what was going on but didn't get the hint. For some reason, I was glad I confessed my love for him, but on the other side, I was happy he didn't get the hint.
