✨Bad guy✨

It's been four months since the whole wedding massacre. Alaric and Jo packed all their stuff and moved immediately somewhere far away. No one blamed them. Alaric said he would be forever grateful to Mary Beth for saving his wife's life but he couldn't be here anymore.

Mary Beth had gone back to college but made Damon keep his promise not to kill Kai. Which was a real rollercoaster of a situation.

"Mary Beth you know I love you and your family but he's the bad guy. We don't save bad guys lives!"

"Damon you promised to keep the killing rate small. I fixed everything just do me this favor."

"What if you hadn't Mary Beth?" He said getting closer to her. "You weren't even supposed to be here. If you hadn't decided to surprise us Bonnie would have been dead. Jo would have died and your own sister would never be able to forgive me for not saving her. I can't keep losing people."

Mary Beth understood how Damon felt. After her parents died she wanted nothing more than to get away. She pushed her emotions down to feel later like she always did. It wasn't healthy how she took care of everyone and didn't allow anyone to care for her.

It was just in her nature she couldn't help it. It was one of her many flaws. Next to being to nice and spending way to much time reading. She didn't understand why she had this feeling that she had to save Kai's life.

Maybe if she weren't able to save the girls she would have let Damon have his way with Kai. But she had this pull in her brain telling her that maybe with help she could change him. He was a bad guy and she didn't even know his back story or the other things he's done to her friends.

But her thing was to save as many people as possible. She made Damon and the rest of her vampire friends not to kill for no reason. Since they all loved Mary Beth and she was always saving their asses, they agreed.

She didn't say anything. She walked to Damon and and wrapped her arms around Damon's torso. He wasn't surprised at this. Mary Beth loved hugging people. It was a problem. Another one of her flaws.

Damon hesitated but wrapped her arms around her tightly.

"Please." She whispered.

They let go and Mary Beth was worried he would get upset again that she was asking this and just kill him anyways. But instead he looked down and nodded his head slightly.

"Fine. But we're going to keep a very close eye on him. If he vexes me or annoys me I might violently maim him" He told her.

She laughed. "Damon everybody vexes and and annoys you."

"Yeah well."

She laughed and hugged him again. "I'll be back again soon."

"Yeah I know."

They let go and she walked to Elena and Bonnie. "I'm going to miss you guys."

"We're going to miss you too." Elena said hugging her tightly.

"Have fun kiddo." Bonnie said hugging her when Elena let go.

"You do to. I'm happy for you" Mary Beth told her. After the wedding Bonnie decided that she loved her friends but being here was just too much so her and Enzo were going to leave for a bit and travel the world.

"Be safe troublemaker." Stefan told her coming out of his room to hug her goodbye.

Mary Beth smiled and jumped into Stefan's arms. It was crazy how much she loved the people in this house. Stefan and Damon were like brothers to her. She stood by their side when they were going through everything with Elena.

She also helped Caroline a lot when she was first turning into a vampire. Caroline had always been grateful to her. Mary Beth was a very forgiving person. Sometimes too forgiving. She believed there is good in everyone.

She believes there is good in Kai. So when she finished the semester and came back she would help him out. Make him a better person. If Damon kept his promise.

She said goodbye and hugged everyone one more time tightly almost knocking the wind out of them. When she was finished she grabbed her bags and gave them one last look before walking outside to her boyfriends car.

"Hey babe. You ready?" Owen asked.

"Yeah all set." She told him getting in his car.

Owen Newborn wasn't always the nicest to her and none of her friends liked the way he treated her sometimes. But Mary Beth always defended him. His life doesn't always go according to plan and she believes he really loves him.

"Why'd you take so long?" He asked not helping her with her bags.

"I just had to make sure everything was okay before I left." She told him smiling. "That's all."

She leaned over and kissed his cheek. He turned and gave her a small smile. He leaned forward and pecked her lips. He had his moments. He just had some anger issues.

Everything is going to work out fine. It has to.
