Denise had asked Kai to spend some more time with her so he was gone the entire day. Despite Mary Beth being a witch her and Owen went on their usual ways.

She went over to his house to surprise him. She figured she would stay with him for a couple days. It had been a week since her telling him she was a powerful witch. Her stay there was definitely...something.

She wanted to stay in and watch movies while they cuddle and run around the house making cookies or something. But he wanted to go to a party and get drunk.

Mary Beth didn't want to go to a party. But she wanted to spend time with her boyfriend so she went their friends party a couple houses down.

"Come on it'll be great baby. We'll have a lot of fun."

"Okay sure." She caved.

They went to the party and she lost track of Kai in the first ten minutes. She went over to grab some water, she didn't feel like drinking tonight. But someone grabbed her arm before she could get it.

"Uh excuse me." She said before looking over to the person.

"Sorry it's just, that's vodka." A man said.

"Oh. I just wanted some water."

"Here." He said grabbing the other clear bottle. "That's the water."

"Thank you." She replied.

He held out his hand and said, "Daniel."

"Oh uh Mary Beth." She said awkwardly putting her hand out to shake his.

She wasn't big on shaking hands. She usually hugged people because that's just how she was. But she was at a party and she just met this man.

"Who are you with?" He asked.

They spent most of the night talking about random things since Owen was still nowhere to be found. They had got around to talking about their favorite subjects in school when a hand grabbed her shoulder aggressively.

"Come on we're leaving." Owen told her.

"Oh uh okay. Bye then Daniel." She waved.

Daniel was startled but waved to her as she got dragged out by Owen.

"Are you fucking kidding me Mary?!" He yelled as he pushed her against a wall. "What the hell do you think your doing?"

"What are you talking about?" She asked wincing a little at the way he was holding her arm.

"That guy was talking to and flirting with you all night and you did nothing about it!"

"Owen stop it. Be reasonable." She asked.

"Reasonable? Reasonable? You want me to be fucking reasonable?" He yelled in her face squeezing on her arm so tight he drew blood.

"Ah Owen stop it your hurting me." She said pushing him off.

Owen looked down at what he did. He dug his nails into her arm. It was going to leave a bruise. She was going to have to wrap it up later.

"Owen it's okay." She told him thinking he felt bad for hurting her.

"No."

"What?" She asked looking confused.

"That's your punishment. This mark." He said grabbing her hand ignoring her wincing "will be a reminder to you to stop hoeing around."

Mary Beth was shocked at his words but was too scared to say anything. He didn't know what else he would do to her. Which isn't how a relationship is supposed to be.

"I need to cool off. Find a way back to the house." He told her walking away.

He cares. He cares. He cares. She kept trying to tell herself. He has too. Because if he didn't,

It would break her.
