✨Mess her up✨

"Damon you have to stop!" Elena told him after fifteen minutes of ranting.

"Why? Why should I? Kai is a bad influence on her. He's going to corrupt her mind and mess her up! Pretty soon she's going be killing people and saying "that's what she said" every five seconds because of how much time she spends with him!" He yelled back.

"Damon it's been four days." She tried to explain. But Damon wasn't having it.

"That's four days too many!"

Elena understood why Damon was so protective of Mary Beth. Everyone was protective toward her. They couldn't help it. Even though she was a witch and friends with a bunch of vampires, she was still so innocent.

If Elena had the chance to get her out of this place and enjoy a vampire free life, she would take it. It's what Mary Beth deserves. But she was also so grateful that she stuck by them. So many times she could have left.

When Jeremy died and Elena burned down their house, Elena was scared that Mary Beth would have had enough and left. She didn't care for a certain amount of time because she turned off her humanity, but after that she was scared.

She apologized so much Mary Beth literally had to beg her to stop apologizing and giving her hugs. She was always a happy person. Making stupid puns and wanting to help other people. It's when all of that stops is when you should worry.

One time when Elena finished Mary Beth's pancakes they were scared for their lives when her expression changed from happy to mad within a second.

Right now Elena would rather have been anywhere else in the world. Damon would not stop going off about how Mary Beth shouldn't be hanging around Kai and how she should have let him kill him at the wedding.

It was too much. She loved Damon with all her heart. But right how she wanted to stab him in the eye.

"Alright Damon that's enough! Seriously this is too much now. You know full well what Mary Beth is capable of. She will be fine. Kai is not going to corrupt her mind, or mess her up, or harm her. You see that way he is with her. He's grateful that she saved his life. You need to stop being the overprotective big brother and start being the supportive big brother who watches safely from the sidelines!" Elena said he led suddenly, stopping Damon mid-protest.

Damon was taken back. Much like her sister, Elena didn't yell very much. She was much more emotional than Mary Beth but didn't yell.

"What?" He asked, his voice getting caught in his throat.

"You should be agreeing with Caroline! Mary Beth is her own person and could take on all of us combined! In fact she has before! She lifted the spell off me and Bonnie, which was supposed to be irreversible by the way! Then on top of all that she was able to heal Jo risking her magic! So stop yelling and being so judgmental because it is driving me crazy!" Elena continued as if he hadn't said anything at all.

Then she gasped and put her hands over her mouth. It was so unexpected she surprised herself. They had been talking for a while and Damon got so heated he hadn't noticed when Kai brought Mary Beth out of her room to watch the conversation between them.

"Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry Damon that was really mean I shouldn't have yelled." Elena said, starting to feel bad.

Mary Beth looked over to Kai raising her eyebrows in surprise and he returned the look. He didn't know Elena that well, but he knew she was like her sister. And he also knew Mary Beth would never really yell unless it was necessary.

"Are you kidding?" Damon said still in shock. "That was freaking awesome! Come here." He said opening up his arms.

"I'm sorry. I am being a yelly, judge-mental, "big brother" when I should be the supportive of what she's doing and watching safely from the sideline "big brother." He told her.

"It's okay." Elena said still surprised she went off the way she did. She was glad it happened though. She had been dying to say that for the last hour.

"I love you." He told her.

Elena looked up and smiled. "I love you more."

Then they got all touchy feely so Mary Beth rushed Kai out of there before she need saw to much and needed mental therapy.

They went back to their rooms still laughing and bid each other good night again.
