✨Never be the same✨

Kai still felt terrible about killing all these people. It was four a.m. and Klaus has finally called it a night. Mary Beth had really changed him in the time they were together. She taught him how bad it was. She taught him here was more to life than being a heartless killer.

But at the same time he couldn't feel. The bad gut feeling was replaced with emptiness. He couldn't feel much of anything. Like how it was before Mary Beth.

But he would never be the same after her. Ever. She had a big impact on his life. Obviously or else he wouldn't be here. But he was. Taking innocent peoples lives. He could only dream of what Mary Beth would think of him now.

She was probably disgusted by him. Disappointed. Angry. He wasn't sure. But it couldn't be good. He didn't really sleep anymore. He didn't have nightmares but was just restless. Which was weird because he loved sleeping. He had never been an insomniac.

Kai had to get out of here he had to. He had to go back to Mary Beth. He knew she wanted nothing to do with him. But he owed her an apology. He was close to home. He could leave. But if he were to leave he wouldn't want to come back. This isn't the life he wanted.

The life he wanted was with Mary Beth.

Mary Beth was sitting on the floor of her room staring at her wall. It was a pretty cool wall. It was a blue wall.

She had on her pajamas. She walked down the stairs and got a drink of water. She then proceeded to lay on the floor. She just laid there. Doing nothing. Nothing was running through her mind either. She was just there.

Damon came down the stairs thinking someone was in the house. He turned on the light and found Mary Beth lying there on the floor. Just lying there. What was she doing?

He looked around. Looked at the ceiling then on the floor again. He nodded his head then walked over to Mary Beth laying down next to her. Mary Beth scooted closer to him. She still wasn't thinking about anything. She wasn't entirely sure what they were doing.

Damon reached over and interlaced his fingers with hers figuring it's what she needed. And it was.

Elena came down the stairs concerned when Damon didn't come back. Her concern soon vanished as she found him laying on the floor holding hands with an emotionless Mary Beth. She didn't hesitate in walking over and laying next to them interlocking her fingers with hers.

Stefan came down wondering why everybody was up. Then realized as he found a group of people he cared about on the floor. He sighed then walked over doing the same as the person before.

Caroline wanted to be involved to so she went over a laid her head on Mary Beth's chest comforting her. Mary Beth's mind was still blank but she was beyond grateful that these people were in her life. It didn't matter what chaos they created. They always had her back.

"I love you guys." She whispered after a while.

"We love you too." Caroline smiled hugging Mary Beth tighter.
