Mary Beth had certainly enjoyed herself at Owen's. Kai could see that certain glow on her face when he got back in the car.

"I'm guessing you didn't yell at him then." Kai said smiling at her.

"Shut up." She said still smiling.

She was happy that her and Owen patched things up. She was really mad at him but lately she felt like he has been pulling away from her. Which he was of course. But Mary Beth didn't know how serious it was.

Mary Beth suggested that they spent the day together. Denise was busy and Owen had something to do so they stayed out of town and had their day of fun. They went to the movies and made fun of the previews.

"What do you think girls trip on when their getting chased?" She asked.

"Their sad life." He whispered back.

Mary Beth laughed but then got quiet when the movie started. She had to punch him in the arm every time he tried to talk to her. Which was a lot.

After that Mary Beth got hungry and Kai could hear her stomach growling.

"Where do you want to get food?" He asked.

"Pancakes!" She practically yelled.

"Wow alright you five year old let's go get pancakes." He said laughing.

They went to the same cute little diner they went to last time. Mary Beth looked like the happiest little kid sipping her peanut butter milkshake trying to decide what pancakes to get. Her two favorite things.

"So what would you like?" Mart Beth asked.

"Well obviously they have such a wide variety of food to choose from." He said sarcastically while holding up the menu with not much writing on it.

Mary Beth laughed into her drink. Kai looked up and smiled at her. As much as he hates to admit it, Mary Beth was doing a good job making him feel. He hated it, but for some weird reason having a friend felt nice.

Mary Beth ordered her pancakes and Kai just decided to have the same. Kai laughed at the way she kept closing her eyes and smiling when she was eating her pancakes.

"These pancakes are amazing." Mary Beth said mostly to herself.

"I'm still not sure who I care about most in the world yet." He said suddenly.

"What?" She asked.

"You know you asked me who do I care about most in the world. Who would I pull an "Ariel" for. I'm still not sure yet."

"Kai. That's okay. I know you care about certain things. I mean you haven't killed Denise or me."

"Yet."

"Kai!" She exclaimed.

"I'm kidding. I happen to like you guys. I'm not sure I would pull and "Ariel" for you guys yet but I still kinda like you."

"Only you would use a Disney movie as an analogy for your feelings." She laughed.

"You know it."
