✨Love on the brain✨

Mary Beth's back was against Kai's chest as his arms were around her waist. They had stayed there a little while longer keeping themselves entertained. She woke up immensely happy.

She turned around to kiss Kai who was already awake listening to her breathing. He kissed back and smiled.

"Aren't you two just the cutest?"

Mary Beth screamed and got up. Kai got up too with an annoyed look on his face.

"What the hell Damon?" Mary Beth said covering herself with the blanket.

"Elena wanted to know if you wanted to help with the cookies." Damon said trying not to go crazy.

"Why are you making cookies?" Kai asked.

"Cause why not?" Damon replied walking out of the room.

"I wanna make cookies." Mary Beth mumbled.

"Then let's go make cookies." Kai replied leaning over to kiss her then getting up.

Mary Beth had an apron on helping Elena and Damon make cookies. This was their normal day. Elena and Mary Beth were pretty alike and when they wanted cookies, they got cookies.

Kai was sitting at the counter staring at Mary Beth lovingly playing with marshmallows.

"Nobody wants to taste your crusty fingers when they eat those marshmallows." Damon said.

Kai didn't say anything instead he used his magic to stick one up Damon's nose. He stopped short staring at Kai. Then to Mary Beth.

"That's your boyfriend." He said to Mary Beth taking out the marshmallow.

"Don't eat that." Elena said.

"I know." He replied throwing the marshmallow away.

Mary Beth smiled at Kai then continued working on the cookies when he smiled back. Kai was beyond happy. A feeling he didn't feel all the time. He didn't feel many feelings. But Mary Beth made him feel. It was weird but nice.

"You know Marilyn you could have any other supernatural boy toy you want yet you go with the sociopathic murderer." Damon pointed out when Elena walked upstairs to get something.

"That's not even my full name." She replied turning around.

"I'm just saying I have some friends I could introd-" He was cut off from yet another marshmallow going up his nostril from magic.

"If you stick one more marshmallow up my nose I'm going to sucker punch you in the throat!" He yelled.

Kai put his hands up innocently and put the marshmallows to the side. He smiled at Mary Beth when Damon's back turned and she winked at him seeing as how it was her magic that did that.

She didn't really appreciate what Damon was saying. She felt insulted that he did and got angry. Kai felt the same way. He understood what it was now. He felt what she felt. Like they were connected. He had never had a connection with someone before. Weird.

"Anyways Mary Beth. How'd you get dingus over here to admit he's in love with you?" Damon said trying not to insult him anymore.

Kai choked on the water he was drinking. Love? Yes he loved her. But they literally just got together yesterday. He hadn't even thought about bringing the L word up yet.

He didn't want to scare her. He wasn't even completely sure what love was yet.

Mary Beth looked over to Kai with a small smile on her face. She loved him but she didn't think he loved her back. This was a good day so far for her.

"Oh you know. I'm just so charming it was hard for him not to declare his love for me." She said looking back to him.

Kai looked down a little embarrassed. He brought his head back up and took her by surprise by kissing her. He pulled back suddenly leaving her dazed. When she saw his face he winked at her.

"Ugh I'm going to go throw up now. Later love birds." Damon said going into the living room to be with Elena.

But Mary Beth didn't hear him. She forgot he even existed. She didn't even know her name right now. She had love on the brain. He loved her back. Wow.

"I cannot believe you ate that many cookies." Mary Beth said as they entered her room.

"What? They were really good. If anything it's a compliment to your baking skills." He defended.

"True. I am awesome at baking."

She took off her jacket and went through her drawers looking for comfortable pajama shorts. Kai looked at her nervous about what Damon had said. She didn't seem to be appalled to the idea of him loving her but still.

"Uh Beth?"

"Hmm?" She replied still looking through her drawers.

"Um about what Damon said..."

Realization set in and Mary Beth stood up stepping closer to Kai.

"I was just wondering uh-"

But he was cut off from Mary Beth attacking his lips. All Kai could about was having her close. He lifted her up and she wrapped her legs around his waist. He pouted when she pulled away for a moment.

"I love you too."
