"Let's explore every inch of this place! What are we waiting for?" I said, enthusiastically twirling my sword in between my scarred fingers. "Dibs on whatever treasure we find." Jesse said, a grin spreading across his face as he practically tripped over me, probably eager to explore every nook and cranny of the ruins of the building and unearth any possible loot. I walked throughout the narrow corridors of the abandoned place, my footsteps resonating throughout the whole building. One particular room caught my eye; a strange greenish glow coming from it. I rest my hand on the knob, almost instantly jerking it away, feeling a jolt of pain run up my spine, traveling throughout my body. The pain gradually faded, and I stared at the door again, wondering what was in it that was so powerful. I contemplated calling Jesse but he was probably all caught up in exploring. I take a deep breath, taking my sword out of my sheath, and driving it through the door; it hardly made a dent. Frustrated, I kicked the door with all my might, my thick leather boots protected me from whatever was on the door.

I reached up to my hair, taking off my bandana, feeling the small clip in my hair. Ah, hair clips, the first line of defense for a warrior. I shove it in the lock of the door, ignoring the tingling sensation in my hand, jiggling the clip around and adjusting it until the I hear a click open, the door slowly opening. I slip in through the crack of the door, not risking making contact with the door, despite my armor. When I entered, whatever the source of the light was, it was blinding - a bright green light polluting the whole room. Once my eyes adjusted to the glow, I saw it. A strange, smooth ball of something - I couldn't put my finger on it - and it was seemingly levitating on a pedestal. Every Part of me screamed not to touch it, but it was like it was luring me, and I felt my body stiffen up at the sight of it, it gave off a...familiar vibe. I took a sep towards the thing, and then I saw what it was made out of.

Redstone.

If only Olivia were here, she'd know what the hell was going on. I carefully raised my hand to the levitating ball of redstone, tracing my fingers on the velvety ball. Whatever it was that was allowing it to levitate was pretty powerful. Sheer curiosity brought me to nudge the ball, and it moved a little, then taking its original shape. I cupped both hands around the ball, then pushing it as hard as I could.
It was like I had just disturbed the orbit of the earth, the ground rumbling beneath us as the ball shook, and I saw it fall off the pedestal. Once it collided with the ground, the ball started glowing even brighter. I raised my arms up to my face, shielding myself from the unbearably bright light. The ground started to shake again, and I reached down for the redstone ball to try to put it back. As soon as my hands made contact with it, it was like what I felt when I touched the door, but a million times worse. I felt my knees buckle, my body violently trembling as I took my hands away from the ball, like electricity coursing through my body, my armor doing to protect me. My balance continued to falter, and I felt my body collide with the cold, hard stone floor, where the redstone ball was, inches away from me. I layed there, immobile, holding my head in my hands praying for it to end, and not gradually, but all at once, the building stopped shaking, and the shock from the ball had stopped, but my heart rate accelerated at the sight of the ball - I don't know what it was, but some bad memory was associated with it.

"Petra!?" I heard Jesse's voice coming from outside of the room. I tried to get up but every muscle in my body was screaming, as if it were on fire. "Jesse!" I called, weakly, trying to use my sword to prop myself up, managing to get on my knees before Jesse comes in. "No, Jesse, get out of here!" I hissed, crawling out of the room. He looked confused and worried. "What just happened?! Are you okay?" He took a deep breath, offering my his hand. I reluctantly took it, but he jerked away from my touch, and so did I. There was some kind of electric shock, and I slumped against a wall, my body failing me.

"What the - what happened in there?" He asked, his tone softening a bit. I rubbed my temples. "Some kind of..redstone ball. It was levitating, and I touched it and it fell off of its pedestal.." I stopped for a moment, my stomach churning. I bent over, heaving as I puked out our breakfast, the foul taste of vomit burning the back of my throat, and I wiped my mouth with my hand, trembling violently. "Petra, are you okay?" Jesse kneeled besides me, lightly putting his hand on my shoulder, testing out to see if anything happened. Nothing did. I scowled and pushed his hands off of my. "I'm fine!" I insisted, getting up with ease, still feeling slightly uneasy. "But..show me. The so called redstone ball." I pursed my lips together tightly, before giving in and leading him to the room with the ball. When I pushed open the door - it seemed to have lost it's glow, and the ball was in the corner of the room, no longer glowing. He approached the ball, and my warning cry came a second too late as he grabbed the ball. At first, nothing happened, then I felt my chest tightening. "Jesse! Put it down!" I screeched, feeling my throat closing up, like someone was crushing my chest, preventing me from breathing. Jesse got the message - he dropped the ball, rushing over to me. My screams of agony were barely audible, and I was sure I would die, right there and then, coughing violently as I failed to take in air. I saw the black dots skim across my vision, slipping into a peaceful state of darkness.
