I looked around to find Toby come out of a room with Laughing Jack. He then went to the final room and dragged Ani the Wight out. I knew we were missing someone...

I looked around our gang of now fourteen.

Wait, fourteen?

I glanced around again and saw our missing 'pasta: Candypop. He was beside Slenderman.

"E.J?" I tapped his shoulder.

"Yeah?" he replied.

"Do you think Jeff is gonna be alright? Like, will you be able to bring him back?" the thought of him saying no haunted me... I almost didn't want the answer.

"I'm not gonna sugarcoat this: I honestly have no idea. We all hope he will. But it is possible that he won't make it."

"Okay..." I looked down at my boots, fearing the worst.

"Also," he continued, "while you were scanning the crowd, I figured out what happened."

"What?"

"So, I saw Jeff flying through the air and landing on his shoulderblades. Well, one of his shoulderblades fractured and went through his skin, called an open fracture. That's why there was all the blood."

EJ lifted Jeff slightly, exposing his shoulderblade. Sure enough, there was bone sticking out. To know that it was his bone piercing out, I almost threw up.

"Hey, don't be getting on nauseous on me. I don't want to have to wash my clothes again this week," EJ warned, seeing the look on my face.

"Sorry..." I looked away.

"Eyeless Jack, you'll treat Jeffery in the infirmary as soon as we reach the mansion," Slender ordered.

"Yes, sir."

"So, how do we get back home?" I asked.

Home. It felt weird to call it that. Weird but... natural. Like it was an instinct.

"I heard someone talking about the directions like right outside my door," BEN added his two cents.

"Okay, well spill the beans! We all wanna go home!"

"Okay, okay. Chill. So I believe it was Sonic.exe saying that the mansion is North about two hundred miles, then West another fifty miles."

"Helpful information. Thank you, BEN."

"You're welcome."

"Okay, well why don't we go there now?" I asked, confused as to why we weren't already moving.

"I'm gonna make sure there isn't like a basement where others are being kept," Bloody Painter said, walking away.

"I'm coming too. Never go alone in a place like this," Candypop added.

"Okay. C'mon."

I watched as they left, going into the elevator. Once the elevator door closed, I looked down at Jeff. His eyes, open, unseeing. His jaw, slack, and slightly open. His face, angelic yet demonic.

He was my Jeffery. How could he leave me like this? After everything.

In that instant, I broke into tears and cried over his body. His cold body.

"Geez, (Y/N), didn't know you cared for a killer like him so much."

"He was... nice... to me. He... cared..." I choked out between sobs.

"Hey, I care," BEN winked.

"BEN, not now. She's going through a crisis," Eyeless Jack said, watching me sob over my dead boyfriend.

"Hey, (Y-Y/N)?" Toby came over.

"Yeah?"

"H- he's not d- dead forever. I d-died once before. EJ h- here took good care o-of my body and did the pr-proper things to r- resurrect me. And here I- I am."

"I never knew that. So, you think that Jeff's gonna be alright?"

"I'm fairly sure he'll recover. He just lost too much blood."

"Oh, okay," I sounded a little more hopeful. I was, really. He's not dead forever. That had to give me hope.

Hope. Hope is a wonder. A miracle. It's what keeps us going. Without hope, there's nothing.

I held Jeff's cold hand in my hands, secretly hoping that his hand will be warm again.

I stayed like that for a few minutes.

I heard the elevator ding again and I looked up. Bloody Painter and Candypop came off, followed by Clockwork, Nurse Ann, Puppeteer and Judge Angels.

"Cl-Clocky!" Toby ran over and hugged Clockwork.

"Toby! I missed you so much."

"Wh-what happened?"

"Well, I was on my way home from going out when Sonic.exe jumped me and took me here. I fought as hard as I could but I just couldn't get him. I was stuck in the basement for a few days."

"Y-yeah. I was w-wondering where you h-had been. F-figured you were c-camping or something."

"No," Clockwork sighed, Her brown hair covered her clock-eye.

"So, do we have everyone? We need to get out of here fast before any others come."

"Good call, Slenderman. Let's go," Bloody Painter said, already heading for the front door, just under twenty feet away.

The others followed. EJ picked up Jeff and carried him out the door. Aside from Slender, who always went out last, I was the final one.

Eventually, I gathered myself up and walked out. The full moon shone brightly, softly illuminating everything within its reach.

I caught up to Eyeless Jack. "Do you think Jeff's gonna be alright? If he's dead long enough, is it possible he'll have some sort of amnesia?"

"Well, there is a possibility since he isn't breathing and oxygen isn't getting into his brain. It could cause brain damage and worse..."

"But you'll make sure none of that happens, won't you?"

"Yeah..." he seemed as unsure as I was. Was Jeff gonna be okay? Would he even remember me? Or any of us, for that matter?

"This is gonna be a miserable walk," Laughing Jack commented.

We continued the long journey home in silence. The air was wet and cold. There were puddles every few feet. The trees seemed to hang extra low.

It was going to be a miserable, long walk back, indeed.
