"Okay. Same thing as last night. Someone goes hunting while someone gathers firewood," Slenderman proclaimed.

"Yes, sir," I said as I went out with BEN to gather some wood for the fire. I was starting to get sick of eating deer.

"Over here! There's a whole bunch of sticks and logs," BEN pulled me along to an area where the ground was littered- and I mean littered -with sticks.

"Hah, at least this spot isn't too far away from camp," I commented, gathering a handful of firewood.

Once we had enough wood, we headed back to the camp. Everyone but Slenderman was sitting. Slender was leaning against a nearby tree.

The sun was down by then and the stars shone. The full moon illuminated the sky.

"You're back. I thought it would take longer," Slenderman mentioned, showing absolutely no emotion.

"Yeah, we are. BEN found a place covered in wood." I replied.

"Ah. Okay. Well, just set the wood down over there and we'll get a fire going."

"Alrighty. Over here?"

"Yes."

We set the wood down. Ticci Toby got up and started the fire with a hidden lighter he had.

"Where'd ya get that?" I asked.

"F-Found it in Sonic.exe's o-office."

"Ah."

I sat down, wanting to be alone with my thoughts for a little while.

"Need some company?" BEN Drowned came over.

"No... I was just about to contemplate life."

"Oh... do you mind if I sit next to you?

"Kind of, but what the hell. Hunker down."

"Yes! Thanks."

"You're welcome? Just don't try to kiss me or anything. I think Jeff's spirit is following me."

"Aww, but that was the first thing I was gonna do!" BEN complained.

"Sorry."

He leaned a little closer and started playing with my hair. "You never said I couldn't do this, though."

"I hate you."

"And I love you."

"But I don't feel the same... at least I don't think.."

"Of course you feel the same, I'm awesome."

"Not as awesome as Jeff..." I sighed. I felt tears welling up again. No! I was not going to cry again. Jeff was gonna come back. I just knew it. I felt it in my gut. He had to come back.

I imagined Jeff holding my hand. I imagined him kissing me passionately. Holding me softly. I imagined him here, alive, warm. Not dead and cold. Not smelling of death,

"Just... leave me alone, please... I need some time alone."

"FIne. You're no fun," BEN got up and walked off, sitting next to Candypop.

I laid down and looked at the blazing stars. I wondered if each star had their own little solar system, or if ours was the only one out there.

"Wake up, dinner's here and ready," I heard a familiar voice.

"Oh. Guess I fell asleep."

"Ya think? C'mon, Princess," BEN chuckled, holding out his hand,

I took it and stood up. He didn't let go of my hand until we were at the fire, where Homicidal Liu was handing out chunks of deer meat.

There was a lot to go around, considering it all came from what I assumed was just one deer.

"To Jeff, my beloved sweetheart!" I said before hungrily shoving the meat in my mouth. We all hadn't eaten since breakfast, and we were starving. Especially since we'd been walking all day.

"To Jeff," the others repeated before stuffing themselves.

Once we got done eating. and the fire was ebbing, we headed off to bed. Toby had first watch since he didn't need to sleep.

"'Night, y'all," I said before going off to a peaceful slumber.

Well, almost peaceful.

It was peaceful until BEN came up and laid down next to me, wrapping his arm around my waist for the second night in a row.

His lame excuse was, "I'm cold."

"Yeah, right, It's like, maybe fifty degrees."

"That's cold for sleeping outside with no blanket, thank you very much!"

"Okay, okay," I resigned. In all honesty, I was a bit cold until BEN came along. But I was only sleeping next to him for body heat. Nothing else.

"I wish Jeff was here holding my waist instead of you."

"Ouch. That one stung. Why can't you just like me?"

"Becuase, I already have a boyfriend."

"Yeah, yeah. But he's dead. You can date me until he's resurrected."

"And why would I do that? Technically, I'm still dating Jeff, so that would be considered cheating."

"Again. He's dead!" BEN emphasized

"Gee, thanks for putting salt on that wound. A whole load of salt!" I said sarcastically.

BEN just nervously chuckled, "Yeah, sorry,"

"It's fine. I'm tired. Let's sleep," I closed my eyes.

"Ok, Princess."

"I heard every word y'all said!" Homicidal Liu piped in.

"Okay? And?"

"BEN, stop being an asshole and rubbing it in (Y/N)'s face that my brother is temporarily gone."

"Yeah, BEN," I agreed.

"Whatever," he said, it off, "I'm tired. Peace."
