Fast forward to the next day, we walked a total of about twenty-five miles.

Just another sixty miles left. Sixty. Miles.

For north, anyway. Then we got fifty miles west. That stacks up t about 110 miles in total, now.

We're only halfway there. Shit.

"Night is closing in, we should probably get some sleep," Candypop mentioned.

"Yeah, good idea," Slenderman responded.

"I agree," Nurse Ann said, slowing down.

"Yeah," I mumbled, lost in thought.

I missed Jeff's aggressiveness. I missed his laugh, his kiss, his touch. I missed the way his tongue felt on mine. I missed his voice. His overall being here.

"You okay, Princess?" BEN asked me.

"Yeah... I guess," I replied, still kind of lost in thought.

"You guess, huh? Why do you guess?"

"I'm just thinking about Jeff. I really hope that he's gonna be alright. I miss his presence in this world so much."

"I understand. He was my best friend and still is."

"Then why do you always make fun of him?"

"Because that's what best friends do. They make fun of each other."

"Well, I don't do that with my best friends. Although, I'll probably never get to see them again. I wonder what they're doing now."

"I never had any friends. Aside from the 'pastas, that is."

I looked down, thinking. I thought about what my life would be like if I had never met Jeff. Or if I had declined to go with him for my first murder.

Life would be so much different. No hiding from the cops. No training. No knives or guns.

No Jeff the Killer. My love.

"Hey, you're, uh, crying. You okay?"

I snapped out of my thoughts. I noticed my cheeks were wet. I guess I was crying.

I looked to see Clockwork looking at me. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," I answered truthfully, "just missing Jeff."

"We all do. If you need a hug, tell me. I'm here for you."

"Thanks, Clockwork. It means a lot to me. I could also just be PMSing."

"No problem. Anytime. I understand how love works. If I ever lost Toby, I don't know what I'd do. I can't imagine how you must feel."

I looked back down at my shoes. They were a pretty (F/C).

"Hey, (Y/N), chin up," Lost Silver came up behind me.

"I know. I just... I don't know. Can we stop now and keep going tomorrow?"

"Yes. It's getting late anyway," Slenderman agreed.

"Thank you," I said, trying not to cry more. All the pressure from the past few days was building up. I've finally reached my breaking point.

I sat on the ground, which was covered in leaves and pine needles. Not to mention the pine cones.

I pulled my knees to my chest and started bawling.BEN sat next to me and put his hand on my back, comforting me.

"There, there."

"I'm... I'm sorry," I sobbed.

"Hey, it's okay. No need to be sorry for letting your emotions show. Some are more stone-faced than others.

"Yeah... I guess," my words were muffled since my face was buried in my legs.

"Don't worry. We'll get Jeff back. I'm sure of it."

"Judge Angels was right. We're just hauling a dead body around. There's no hope for him. His body is already starting to decay and it smells like death itself.

"Woah woah woah. Slow down. Don't listen to a thing that bitch had to say. She was the one saying that we should burn the damn body, making the chance of Jeff being alive zero percent. Without the body being burned, the chances are much higher. Yes, lowering with each passing day, but still higher than zero."

"Well, that is true. But what if the chance reaches zero? What if we're too late?" I worriedly asked while I was fidgeting.

"Don't worry," BEN said, placing his hand on my shoulder, "we're gonna solve this. I believe in you."

"But what if somehow I screw everything up? What if-"

He placed his finger over my mouth, "Shh. Calm down. Jeff's gonna be resurrected. I can almost assure you."

"Yeah, almost." I sarcastically emphasized.

"Well, I don't positively know for sure if he is going to be alright.  I mean, as far as we know it could already be too late. But, I won't give up, and neither should you."

"Wow, such a speech."

"I know, I know, I'm not the best at giving motivational speeches."

"No, I mean that was a pretty good speech. Thank you, BEN."

"Oh? Uh... you're welcome?"

I chuckled, pulling my hair behind my ears.

"You're sexy like that."

"I'm a taken woman, BEN!"

"I know, I know. Just saying."

"Hmph," I crossed my arms.

"Is that all I'm gonna get? No 'thank you' or anything?"

"Yup."

"Hmmm... not even if I..." he leaned in and placed his lips on mine. The kiss was slow at first but grew passionate quickly.

I pulled away before things got really heated.

"Aww, but we were just getting started!" BEN complained.

"As I said, I'm a taken woman," I repeated,

"Okay, okay. I get it, I get it. You're still gonna be loyal to my best friend."

"No shit, sherlock. I would never cheat on Jeff."

"You already did. All the times we kissed."

"Shut up."

"It's true."

"Whatever. I vow to never do it again."
