"Okay. I'll have to retrace my steps. Where was I eight years ago?"
Tanya kept running until she found a familiar place.
"Maybe this is it. This is where I stayed. But where's my real family?"
"Tanya!" A familiar voice yelled.
Turquoise stopped and panted right by Tanya.
"Don't go back to your old parents."
"What? Why?"
"We don't know what'll happen to you. You were thrown out for a reason, and if you come back, who knows what they'll do to you!"
"But I want to find them. Just please let me."
Turquoise, for the first time, said something like this:
"Fine. Go explore, do whatever. You'll be fine."
Turquoise turned around and walked. Tanya saw a red square thing on the floor, kicked it, then turned to look back at the alley.
"This doesn't look familiar anymore." She started walking, looking at the street. She remembered the times she played in the snow with Galvana, Turquoise, and Lorex. Heart would be making hot cocoa inside, but this is only fall. She wished winter would come early. Tanya saw another alleyway across the street.
"This must be it!"
Tanya ran across the empty street.
"This is it! Now to find that house."
Tanya looked through a window of one house by the alleyway. A man inside there was daydreaming, looking kind of sad, while a woman was watching TV. Both of them had brown hair like Tanya's.
"This must be it! I think it's them!"
Tanya went over to the door and knocked on it. The man came to the door and cried.
"Um... sir are you okay?"
The man hugged Tanya.
"It's you! Tanya! I thought I'd never see you again!"
The woman, probably Tanya's mom, went by the door and said "Who's this?"
Tanya's mom pushed Tanya's dad aside.
"Hey, didn't I tell you eight years ago to get away from us?"
Tanya went silent.
"Well scram!"
Tanya didn't run. She stayed exactly where she was.
"Scram or I'll make you!"
"I won't."
Tanya's mom walked up to Tanya.
Two voices warned her. "Tanya, run!"
Tanya's mom picked her up and threw her as hard as she could, onto the floor.
"Don't trust her." Tanya heard her mom say before she was knocked out. "Remember, she sees a lot of things."
