I woke up to see the house empty. I knew Natalie was at school. I took a shower, changed and headed down the stair to the kitchen. I saw Steve, in the kitchen, reading the newspaper, drinking his coffee. I stood by the doorway.
"You're drooling." He said as he places the paper down and smirks. I walked and poured myself a cup of coffee.
"Force of habit." I then sat down next to him. Steve held my hand as he continued to read the paper. The birds were chirping. "Honey?" Steve hums as he looked up at me.
"Yes doll?"
"I want to see my aunt." I gulped. Aunt Kylie might give me an idea why HYDRA wanted me in the first place. "I want go today."
"Are you sure?" I nodded. "You know i will go with you but, The letter didnt even have her address. How do you know where she is?"
"Trust me."
"Always." We finished our coffee, texted Bucky to pick up Natalie from school and take care of her for a while. We went to the jet and went to New York. We landed the jet in the Avengers headquarters and drove our way to our destination. "A psychiatric ward?" We walked out of the car.
"My aunt went crazy, i dont know what from. My dad took care of her. The only option was to send her here." We stepped in the ward, everything was white, nurses were walking everywhere, patients roaming around. We walked to the front desk. "Hi, im here to see Kylie Campbell. Im her niece." The lady looked up.
"Sure, follow me." Steve and I walked behind the nurse, holding hands. "You know, she hasn't had any visitors for a long time."
"Why not?" I asked her as we stopped at the door.
"Who knows." She opened the door. I looked to see my aunt, sitting on her chair, looking at the window. "Kylie, your niece is here." She then turns around. My aunt Kylie, she hasn't changed. Her blonde, blue eyes. Skin was like made out of glass, never aged.
"Aunt Kylie? Its me-" I walked up to her. She turned around.
"Crystal." She smiled. I hugged her. "My sweet girl."
"I got your letter." I pulled out the paper. She signaled the nurse to leave and close the door.
"I really am sorry about Tony, your mother really loved him." I nodded my head. "Please have a seat."
"Thank you. Uh Aunt, this is-"
"Captain Steve Rogers." She blurted. Steve and I exchanged looks. "I know."
"Aunt Kylie, i want to know about-"
"Your mothers life? Why HYDRA wants you?" She took the words out of my mouth, as if we read my mind. "Your mother wasnt the only one in the family with the powers." Mind reading, of course. "What do you want to know?"
"Like you said." She gestures to us to sit on her bed.
"Well, your mother was is not really named Monica Campbell." She wheels closer to us. "My name isn't Kylie Campbell.
"Fake identity?" Steve said.
"Her name was Johanna Schmidt, i was named Angelika." She looked at us. "Your great grandfather was Johann Schmidt."
"Red Skull." Steve whispers. "He worked in HYDRA. The reason why i went under the ice."
"You have to be kidding me. Right?" I told her as I looked at her.
