A/N: After having a nightmare, Loki performs a spell to try resurrect Frigga but it only lasts for the day. She gets to meet the family he has now and they share a lovely mother/son moment together.

Loki was resting peacefully, taking a nap after being up for endless hours last night with a extremely fussy Axel, who just wouldn't go to sleep no matter how hard he tried. He had felt so stressed out, but tried not to show it, knowing that the infant could easily sense him being tense. It took forever to calm him down, finally discovering that the trick was to swaddle him in one of your shirts, the scent making the little prince think that you were there with him; it was abundantly clear to him that his son was definitely more fond of you than anyone else in the family.

While he was still engaged in a deep slumber, he soon began to have a dream about Frigga, his late mother, and whimpered softly in his sleep, a single tear rolling down his cheek. Loki missed her so much and wished that he could've done more to save her, let alone be allowed to be at her funeral.

There they were in the royal Asgardian garden, blissfully having a cup of tea while having a good time engaging in laughter and a deep, soulful conversation. The sun was shining, with not a single cloud in the sky, and the citadel standing tall in the sky, rising up above everything else in the golden city of Asgard. Everything was perfectly fine, or so it seemed. A shadow grew over the city, followed by a series of explosions, the ground rumbling violently. Loki and Frigga looked around, trying to get a glimpse of what was happening, but were soon faced by a partially masked figure who drew his sword and charged towards the queen, with Loki stepping in front of her to protect her. He had tried to fight the mysterious person off, but no matter what he did, it wasn't enough. It never seemed like it was enough to him. He found himself pinned onto the ground by magic that was stronger than his own, a heavy foot pressed to his chest, and before he could muster a single move, Frigga appeared behind the man; ready to strike him with her dagger. 'Mom, no....please don't risk yourself for me. I'm not worth it...' Loki spoke inwardly to her with tears forming in his eyes, his breathing hitching from the weight that still laid upon his chest; knowing exactly what she was intending to do. The man noticed that Loki was fixating his vision on Frigga and turned around, throwing her off to the side with a powerful blow. She laid there for a moment, groaning softly, before looking up at the attacker with a cold, hard glare and rose up from the ground while her son laid there feeling stuck like a deer in the headlights; not knowing what to do. He had tried to move to help her, but it felt as if he was stuck in one spot, and then looked to see his limbs tied to the ground by thick, prickly vines that had appeared out of nowhere. Just at the very second he peered back up he eerie cries of agony his mother made as she was stabbed through the stomach, being killed on the spot in front of his eyes.........

"Mom! No! Please don't be gone, I need you," he whimpered loudly in his sleep, his body trembling excessively, beginning to sob softly. You had heard his screams and rushed into the room, trying your hardest to stir him from his sleep, nudging your husband as hard as you possibly could in hopes that it would be beneficial. "Loki baby, wake up, it's just a bad dream," you urged, trying to remain as soothing as you could, continuing to nudge him. He startled awake, panting heavily and looked down in front of him, his eyes stained with tears. Barely making eye contact with you, he wrapped his arms around you in a tight embrace, just needing to feel some sort of comfort. Amara had heard the sobs through the walls, becoming very worried about her father and entered the room rather quietly, crawling up onto the bed with the two of you. "It's okay daddy, you can have my teddy bear," she offered, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek, giving him a small smile afterwards. Loki returned the smile, taking the bear from her, which had seemed to have better days, being stained from the numerous tea parties and outdoor adventures that she had, its limbs lacking fluff. "Thank you pumpkin, that's very thoughtful of you,"he said, breaking the embrace with you to pull her into his arms, holding her close to his chest while stroking her soft, black hair. You excused yourself to go check on Axel, deciding to make Loki some tea while you were at it, leaving father and daughter alone together.
