A/N: A little continuation from the last part (after Loki had forbade Amara to see Jax) I hope to be updating more often than I have been with this and some other books and if anyone has any ideas I'm always open to them, just shoot me a message and I will do my best to accommodate your request :)
That very night, sleep didn't come easy for Loki. He tossed and turned, his mind running rampant with thoughts of Jax mistreating his daughter, which only angered the god more than he already was and in turn, keeping him from reaching a state of restful slumber. Maybe he had overreacted but there was just this irksome feeling that he was getting about the teenage boy, his fatherly instincts telling him that if not now, then further down the line Amara would end up getting hurt. Perhaps he should've just let her be with him and learn the hard way, but he had gone down that road a bit too much himself in the past and just wanted the best for her. Loki had thought about going to talk to his daughter but had sooner opted to let her emotions simmer down instead and would have a few words with her in the morning; ones that would be much calmer than they previously were.
Meanwhile, after Amara had cried her eyes out, she had texted Jax and had made arrangements to meet him at his house, where they were going to run off together. There was just one not so little issue that Amara had to deal with before she could even think of going out-her window had been sealed up by her father's magic, making it an impossible escape route for her. So, she quietly and carefully opened her bedroom door, tiptoeing her way down the hall and then down the stairs, making her way to the back door. She prayed that both of her parents were fast asleep, especially her father since his sense of hearing was so keen; he could hear the slightest of sounds, rendering it near impossible to sneak up on him. Her hand had just barely grabbed hold of the doorknob when she felt a firm hand on her shoulder, causing her whole body to tense up.
"Going somewhere my dear daughter," the familiar voice of her father spoke, sounding deadly serious. Amara gulped nervously and then spun herself around to look at her father, her skin turning pale and all for good reason of course. She tried to speak but just couldn't find the words, knowing full well that she couldn't lie her way out of this; her father would most definitely see right through it and if he didn't catch on right away, he would eventually. Honesty was the best policy in this predicament she was in right now, no matter how bad the outcome would be for her. She sighed hastily. "I was going out to see Jax," she admitted sheepishly, shifting her eyes away from the cold stare that she was receiving from her father, waiting for him to freak out on her. His eyes widened with both surprise and dismay, his jaw going stiff with rage. "Amara Frigga, did you not hear me clear enough earlier tonight? You are NOT to see that boy again. He's no good for you and I don't want you to have to learn the hard way. Now, please go back to your room and stay there," he stressed, trying to keep his tone level, as to not wake you nor Axel from either of your slumbers.
Amara glanced back at her father and gave him a small glare, crossing her arms over her chest. "No, I won't go back to my room. You can't make me," she protested, a bit of a bratty malice to her voice. That had only agitated Loki further, with him struggling to keep the angered expression away from his features. "Is that so," he dryly quipped, arching a brow at her, his gaze growing colder, "I am your father Amara and you need to listen to me. I'm just trying to help you here. Now, back to your room. I won't tell you a third time," he insisted with little emotion to his tone, pointing a finger in the direction of her room. She huffed and groaned, stomping her foot on the floor before storming off back to her room, fighting tears back from coming to the surface. She hated this so much and just wished that she could succeed in running away, wanting to be with Jax again.
Upon entering her room, she went to get her phone from her pocket but then gasped softly when she didn't feel it there, frantically feeling around to find it. Her attention was soon taken away from hunting down her phone when she heard Loki clearing his throat in her doorway. "Looking for this," he queried, holding her phone up in his hand. A very cheesed off expression grew onto her features, followed by a low growl. "Give it back dad," she whisper shouted, approaching him to reach out for the device, only to stumble forward as it disappeared into thin air. Loki shook his head in refusal and stood tall above her, crossing his arms over his chest. "It's off limits for now, until you can prove to me that you're deserving of having it again," he advised her, a serious expression in his blue-green eyes," oh and one more thing before I go, don't even think of trying to run off, I placed a spell on the entire house that only I can remove," he stated, soon turning to leave, closing the door behind him and then headed back to the bedroom to try get some much needed sleep.
It hurt that he had to take these measures, but Amara made him feel as if there was no other choice; it was time for some tough love, no matter how difficult it got sometimes. He wanted to protect her young, fragile heart from major heartbreak, which he knew was inevitable with a guy like Jax. Loki crawled back under the covers, smiling softly at your sleeping form and then pulled himself closer to you, draping an arm over your waist. It was the only way that he could sleep easy right now, especially with what was going on with Amara right now.
Amara, on the other hand, was still wide awake and sat in her bed, staring out the window with an emotionless expression. She wanted to cry but there were tears to cry. Why couldn't her father see that she was just a typical teenage girl who was so desperately in love, one who just wanted to be with the one person who made her feel happy? She didn't understand why he was being so overly protective of her and she wanted to put herself in his position but right now, she was much too upset with him. Hel, she didn't want to even look at him right now and wished that there was some aspect of her life that she could control; wanting her independence so badly, to be with Jax in some other city away from everything and everyone that stood in their way. That was seemingly never going to happen though, not as long as she was here. Amara let a low sigh out and then laid down, hugging her pillow as tightly as she possibly could until her arms and knuckles turned white, eventually drifting off to sleep as she tried to scheme up a plan in her mind.
'The first chance I get, I'm coming to you Jax....,' she inwardly swore, soon dozing off seconds later.
Little did she know at that moment, Jax had already moved on with another girl from a different school; completely forgetting that he had arranged to have Amara come over.
Loki didn't know just how right he was about this boy, but he was soon to find out....
