A/N: How is college going for Amara? You'll have to read further to find out. Also, I promise there'll be more mention of Loki in future chapters, this one was just to help out the story further :) I hope you enjoy it!
It had been a good three months that Amara had been attending college and quite honestly, she was enjoying it more than she thought she would; even though things could get quite stressful at times. Sure, she missed not being able to be around her family as much and whenever she wasn't too busy studying for those critical exams, she took every opportunity she had to FaceTime with them. This was especially true for her father, who loved hearing about how her studies were going and what fun activities she had planned for the day, or even just talking with her about the most random of topics. In all honesty, as long as he got to hear her voice and see her face, he really didn't care what they talked about. It had been quite hard on Loki to see his little girl leave the nest when that day had finally come and though he wouldn't admit it to anyone, not even you and definitely not his daughter, he went into her room and had a good long cry over her leaving. In fact, he insisted that things in her room remain the way they were a few days after she had left, should she come back for a visit one day. That was not a problem at all, with you agreeing instantly that her old room could stay in 'as is condition.' With time, Loki had gotten used to her not being around but that didn't mean that he didn't miss her. He did every single day and longed for the day to come that she would get some holidays, looking forward to seeing her again. There were times that he thought about using his magic to pay her a visit but he opted against it, not knowing if she could be studying for a critical exam or working on some assignments, amongst other things that college students could be up to.
Amara had chosen for her main field of study to be in the fine arts, wanting to do something creative with her life and not only that, she wanted to do something that she would actually enjoy. She knew that she needed a back up plan though, just in case her first choice didn't work out and so she opted to minor her studies in astrophysics, always having been so intrigued by the cosmos and other unknowns of the universe. It might have been a little bit because of her father's love for such things as well, which aided as an influence for her to pursue such a course. She had just finished up with a major essay in this class as well and was hoping that when she would learn her grade later this week, that it would be pleasingly high as she had worked many sleepless nights just trying to ensure that it was flawless and typed up many paragraphs until her hands had cramped up, even then she kept going until she felt as if she no longer could. This was definitely going to be a long five years of further education, that was very clear at this point but she knew that she could do it. After all, she had the full support of her loved ones and the drive to accomplish anything she put her mind to. This was what she wanted to do and she was going to show the world who Amara Lokidottir is; a strong-willed goddess, who you don't dare get in the way of.
Here she was now, walking down the halls of her campus with her books in hand, ones that she could finally return to the library after days of seemingly endless studying about how asteroids form and such, feeling a little drained of energy and looking forward to that midday snack. She was also nervous to see if she had passed that huge assignment that was handed in just on time, but barely, and hoped that she had gotten through it with flying colours. She knew full well that it was a big percentage of her grade and she didn't want all of the sleepless nights to be in vain. I really hope the professor liked my paper, or else I don't know what I'm going to do, she thought as she occasionally glanced around at her surroundings and some other students who had walked pass her, nodding their heads subtly in a way that said 'hello.'
She neared the library and was about to turn to go around the corner to the door, but then paused in her spot as she heard something; the most beautiful sound she had ever heard, that was even counting the sound of the applause that was held for her when she had graduated high school. She kept listening for a minute in an attempt to figure out which direction it was coming from and she soon walked towards it, the sound becoming more and more clear to her. It was the sound of a male singing and as she kept following the voice, she tracked it down to the auditorium and hovered a hand near the door handle, pondering on whether or not she should go inside.
