A/N: Things take an interesting turn when Loki takes Amara trick or treating.
Amara had just returned home from her Halloween party at school, which was quite the experience for her, with her classmates being in awe over her ice princess costume and had been fooled into thinking that her blue skin and crimson eyes were all just very well executed makeup jobs; though there were some kids who weren't too impressed, mainly higher upper classed ones. Some had thought that she was just dressed that way for the attention and even thought that she was being a bit of a diva, though Amara didn't let that get to her. She had to be careful throughout the day not to make skin to skin contact with anyone, otherwise she would end up giving them severe frostbite; her Jotun skin extremely cold.
She was quite excited to go trick or treating with her dad, and couldn't wait for supper to be finished with, just wanting to go get as much candy as she possibly could. You were going to stay home, along with Axel (as he was much too young yet to go out for this), and just pass out candy to anyone who came. The three of you ate the delicious casserole that you had prepared and after cleaning up her plate, as you had asked her to do, Amara grabbed her bag and waited as patiently as she possibly could for Loki to get ready as well. He soon came over to the front entrance, where she was eagerly awaiting him, only to be greeted with a saddened expression by her. "Pumpkin, what's the matter? You were so cheery a minute ago and now you look as if you lost your favourite doll," Loki queried, kneeling down to be on her level, looking her in the eyes. "You're not wearing a costume daddy," she pointed out, giving him those puppy eyes, almost sounding disappointed with him. Loki glanced over at you and Axel, both of you wearing a matching polar bear costume; mommy and her cub. He knew that he would be defeated by this very fact alone, and soon focused heavily to make his Asgardian battle wear appear on himself. "Daddy, your work clothes don't count," she giggled, flashing him a sweet smile that he just couldn't get upset with, "match with me, you can be the king," she had insisted, wanting Loki to transform into his Jotun form. Loki gave her a small nod and mustered enough energy to change into his Jotun form, still donning his battle gear, hoping that it would suffice. "Perfect." That's all she said before taking his hand and tugging him out the door, with Loki barely managing to blow you a kiss before leaving.
Father and daughter soon headed down the streets, going from house to house, getting lovely compliments about their matching costumes. Amara had collected a reasonable amount of candy already, getting more than double the amount just by charming the people with her cute, innocent angel look. This worked like a charm every time she performed it, with a couple of exceptions; whenever she was in deep trouble with you and Loki, and when the teacher had to scold her, which wasn't too often.
Things were going great for the longest time, until Loki had looked away for just a second, shooting a scornful glare back at some snob who looked at Amara and him with a great deal of disgust. He had turned back to check on Amara, having not felt her hand in his anymore, and was beyond petrified to see that she was nowhere to be seen. 'Oh by Odin's beard, (Y/N)'s going to kill me if she finds out about this,' he freaked inwardly, scurrying to try and find his missing princess, looking all over the place for her; the block they were on, in the alleys and even the whole neighborhood. Not a single trace of her. This was just fantastic. Where could she have even wondered off to? She couldn't possibly have decided to venture out on her own, could she? Loki wasn't sure, but he knew that he had to find her and fast, fearing that much worse could happen to his little girl. He began to perform a tracking spell to find her, soon learning that she was a good twenty blocks away from where they currently were. 'That little smarty pants,' Loki thought, realizing what had happened, 'she already figured out how to teleport.' Needless to say, he was definitely impressed with her skills, but at the same time he was a bit upset with her for running off without him or even telling him beforehand.
Not wasting anymore time, Loki teleported himself to her location and was beyond shocked to see that she was sitting on a hale bale with a little boy around her age, who was dressed like Captain America, both of them sharing their treats with one another. 'Oh no, not yet young lady,' Loki inwardly growled, his fatherly instincts going into overdrive as he marched over to the pair. "Amara Frigga, I think it's time that we head home now, it's getting late," Loki sternly said, his expression deadly serious, with his hands slowly forming into tight fists. "Aww, alright daddy," she sighed, looking over at the boy and pressed a chaste kiss on his cheek, before saying her goodbyes. She had hoped that they could've had a bit more time together, but was glad to have made a new friend regardless. Unbeknownst to Loki though, the boy had given her his contact information and encouraged Amara to come hang out with him sometime soon.
Amara hopped down from the bale and went over to her father, who was fuming on the inside, taking his hand and headed down the street, until they reached a more secluded area that they could teleport back home without peeping eyes watching them. The moment they entered the house, you had perked up from your spot in the corner chair in the living room, getting up to greet them with a warm, welcoming smile. "How did everything go guys? Did you get lots of candy?" Loki had hoped that Amara wouldn't mention the incident of him losing her, cursing himself on the inside for forgetting to tell her not to, waiting to see what she was about to answer. "It was great mommy, I got lots of treats and I even made a new friend," she smiled widely, opening her bag for you to peek into. 'Oh Norns, here we go....,' Loki stressed inwardly, trying his hardest to keep his demeanor calm, as if nothing had happened. "That's wonderful sweetheart, how did you meet your friend?" This was looking to turn into a complete disaster for Loki, and he was beginning to get more and more nervous with each passing second; really not wanting to face your fury. Not that he was afraid of you, it's just that he preferred to sleep in bed with you and not alone on the couch, which he was certain was about to happen within moments.
"Daddy lost me, well I got away from him and then not long after that is when this boy and I started talking, we even shared some candy," she sweetly informed you, smirking softly, glancing briefly at Loki while doing so. Your eyes widened in disbelief and you glared over at your husband, waiting for him to provide you with some sort of explanation; no matter if it was a poor or good one, you just needed to hear his side of things. "Loki, you lost our daughter?," you almost hissed, trying to keep your temper under control, even though deep within you were absolutely fuming. "No, it's not like that darling," he said slowly backing away from you, just in case he need to make a quick getaway, "I found her not long after I realized she was missing, that's something isn't it?" You rolled your eyes at him, unable to fathom what you had just heard from him and took Amara into the living room to help her sort through her candy and talk with her more about this boy she met, leaving Loki standing alone in the entrance area. This was most certainly going to be a very long night for him.
