A/N: All I can tell you guys about this part is, be prepared to laugh and cry. Enjoy and comment (it keeps me and other writers motivated) lots of love to you all.
It had been a few days since Amara and Erik had become engaged and they were completely ecstatic to share the news with their loved ones. The happy couple discussed it at length last night and decided that as soon as they were finished up with their final exams for Amara's second quarter of her second year of post-secondary and Erik's third year respectively, they would drive down to visit her family to tell the good news in person; it felt more real that way. Amara had originally offered to teleport the two of them there, but Erik persisted that travel by magic made him feel rather dizzy and not to mention, queasy. She couldn't wait to see the expressions on each family member's face, especially her fathers-which she hoped would be one of joy and not unpleasant in any way. Erik reassured her that everything would be just fine and that all of her family would be over the moon to hear of this news.
This whole weekend was proving to be rather busy for them so quickly. After the exams and visiting Amara's family, Erik also wanted to get a start on planning the wedding, which Amara was in agreement with. Most importantly, they had the date to figure out and then from there they had to choose a location, the flowers, the cake and the guests would need to be calculated as well. Did they want a big, fancy wedding or something much more simple? They weren't sure yet but Amara was sure that her father would have some suggestions to make; lavish ones with that being said. The pressure was on the two of them to figure out the roles of best man and maid of honor, along with other things not related to the wedding at all-such as their studies, with Amara having another two years to endure after this and Erik only having one more year to get his bachelors degree, and balancing all of the other stresses of life; such as the painful tasks of making sure they made enough to live and have a little recreational fun, along with whatever surprises life wished to throw at them. It wasn't anything that they weren't prepared to handle though, as the pair knew that they had the other's full support no matter what the issue was and could achieve anything with that in mind.
Amara was so excited for the future that she could barely focus on the present and as much as she tried to study for that pesky test, she just couldn't stop thinking about the impending day where her father would be walking her down the aisle, it all seemed too good to be true. She glanced down at the gorgeous rock that adorned her left ring finger and smiled dreamily to herself, thinking that Erik couldn't have picked a better ring if he tried; it was absolutely perfect.
Come on Amara, you need to focus if you're going to ace this test...
That was easier said than done and so Amara decided to rely on a little extra help to keep her mind from wandering onto her upcoming nuptials for the time being. She picked up her phone and called Maddie to ask her if she could come over for a couple of hours, delighted when she received an immediate 'yes' from her. From there, she packed up her books and headed over to Maddie's house, ready to get her study on-providing that her pesky, though sometimes wonderful little brother didn't interrupt that said study session. He could be unbearable at the worst of times and seemed to know when to become an inconvenience when it least suited Amara; more so calling Maddie whenever she and Amara were spending some girl time together, whether it was in good fun or the more mundane of tasks, such as what they were about to do now.
Since the day that Maddie had met Amara's little brother, Axel, she had spent a copious amount of time chatting with him over video and whenever the opportunity came about, she and her family would go down to see their family, which allowed the two to hang out together doing all sorts of activities; some of that included Axel showing Maddie different science experiments and Maddie showing him her guitar skills, both of them being rather impressed by their skills. Sometimes they even played video games together, both virtually and in person, Maddie often beating Axel and though that was typically dependent on the type of game they played, Axel didn't mind losing to her at all. In fact, he was growing rather fond of her the more time they spent together and he felt as if they were developing a real strong connection; which left him to wonder if she was feeling the same thing, or if it was just him alone. Obviously, he hoped the latter wasn't true.
