A/N: A continuation of the last part. Angst and lots of other emotions in this chapter.

Loki rose from his slumber earlier than everyone else in the family and trudged his way into the kitchen, preparing a healthy breakfast for Amara; which consisted of a veggie omelette, turkey bacon slices and a whole wheat English muffin with some cream cheese spread over it. He went up to her bedroom, gently knocking on the door and waited patiently for a response that he knew he probably wouldn't get. Silence. That's all there was in the hallway that he stood in and in Amara's room, as expected. Loki sighed softly and then proceeded to slowly open the door, announcing his presence as he did this. "Amara, it's me," he said, taking a small step into her room and glanced over at his daughter who had her back turned to him as she laid in her bed, "I've brought you breakfast," he continued, coming up to the bed and then set the plate down on her bedside table, pausing there for a brief moment in the hopes that she would look at him or at least say something. It was evident at this point that she was awake, but was pretending otherwise; even though Loki could see right through that guise.

She remained still, tightening her grip on her pillow and slowly opened her eyes, quickly fluttering them shut again. "Amara, I know you're awake," Loki sternly said, her attitude perturbing him so much already, which was understandable of course. She groaned and opened her eyes again, despising the fact that she had failed with her deceit yet again. "I'm not hungry," she dryly stated, stretching her legs out before pulling them back in so that she was in a fetal position. Loki rolled his eyes and let a low, yet audible huff out as he took a seat beside her. "Sweetheart, please look at me. I just want to talk things out with you," he pleaded, while gently placing a hand on her shoulder. Her body stiffened up at his touch, as if she was afraid that he would hurt her (he could never do such a thing, at least not to her or anyone in his family) and she wanted to pull away from him, but something within her had stopped her from doing so. She didn't want things to be like this with her father, especially since they were once to close, but she felt so much resentment at the moment for how he handled things with her and Jax, wishing that he would just take some time to understand the way she felt about him. For a second, she almost second guessed herself but then sighed a little and turned to face her father, a teary look in her eyes. "Why can't you see that I really love him and that he loves me dad, I just want to be happy," she questioned, her voice still a bit groggy and her expression somber, yet serious.

Loki pursed his lips for a moment, searching in his mind for the right words to say to her so that she would hopefully understand his side of things. "Princess, it's a big scary world out there, as I'm sure you know and I just want you to think as a parent about how you would react if you had gotten bad vibes from someone that your child is romantically involved with. I'm certain that you would tear apart the nine realms and all of the cosmos to protect them and that's exactly what I'm doing for you. I just want to know that you're safe and that you're making smart choices. Sure, you're allowed to mess up and learn, that's what life is all about but as your father it's my job to give you some guidance so you don't always have to learn the hard and sometimes painful way. The day that you were born, I swore that I would protect you from anything and anyone and I intend to keep that promise," he explained to her, with Amara listening intently to every single word that he was saying, and found that he had to fight to keep his voice from breaking; tears threatening to form in his eyes that he had to blink away. Amara, on the other hand, had allowed a few tears to slip and sniffed softly, soon pulling her father in for a warm, comforting hug.

Now, she finally understood what he was thinking and feeling, but at the same time still felt he was wrong about Jax and she intended to prove that to him; knowing that she would have her chance after school today to do exactly that.
