"Right, Daddy just needs to make some very important phone calls in the study, Sungie. Do you promise me you'll be good while I'm gone?" Changbin asked, picking his phone up from the coffee table.
Jisung nodded happily from where he was sitting on the carpeted floor. "I pwomise, Daddy! Sungie be weally good boy!"
Changbin chuckled, kneeling down in front of Jisung so he could ruffle his hair and kiss his forehead.
"I know you will, baby," the older male replied, standing back up from the floor. "Right, you're not allowed to go into the kitchen at all until Daddy gets back, ok, Sungie?"
Jisung nodded again, happily talking to himself while he played with his toy cars. Changbin smiled at his baby's energy and ruffled Jisung's hair before making his way to the door.
"Daddy will be done in around twenty minutes, baby," he announced before disappearing off down the hall and into his study.
Jisung was feeling big enough to turn on the TV himself and for about half an hour he was happy to just watch TV on his own. He couldn't remember how long Changbin said he would be, but Jisung figured he had been gone for long enough when his stomach began to rumble.
Pouting, he hopped off of the sofa and started walking timidly in the direction of Changbin's study, stopping when he heard Changbin sighing behind the closed door followed by a few words that little Jisung shouldn't really be hearing.
Deciding he could show his daddy that he was a big boy and could do big boy things for himself, Jisung made his way into the kitchen, where Changbin had told him not to go. But Jisung definitely wouldn't get into trouble if he didn't make a mess.
Changbin would be so proud of him for being able to get something to eat by himself, that he wouldn't even be angry that Jisung had gone into the kitchen without his permission.
Looking around the room, Jisung furrowed his eyebrows in thought, running over the things in his head that would be easy enough to get without Changbin noticing. Remembering the curry Changbin had made for dinner last night, Jisung opened the fridge to find the large bowl of food.
Obviously, he wasn't going to eat it all (his little tummy definitely couldn't take that much food) but he wanted to show his daddy that he was a big boy, and that he could get his own lunch. However, the bowl was heavier than Jisung had anticipated, and pretty much as soon as he picked it up from the fridge, he lost his grip on it and it slipped from his small hands and onto the floor, where the glass shattered and food splattered everywhere.
Jisung screamed at the sudden noise, not realising that a shard of glass had bounced off of the floor and cut the side of his leg until he looked down at the mess he had made. All he could think was 'Daddy's gonna be so angry with me' over and over until the shorter came stumbling into the kitchen, stopping abruptly when he saw the broken glass and curry surrounding Jisung.
"D-Daddy, Daddy, 'm sowwy!" The little cried, making grabby hands for Changbin as soon as he saw him.
"No, no, Jisung, don't move!" Changbin yelled a little too loud for Jisung. "Baby, don't move, ok? Daddy needs to clear all of this glass first."
Jisung sniffled and nodded, wringing his hands in front of him nervously as Changbin shuffled into his sliders and grabbed the dustpan and brush from underneath the dining table. The older then began to sweep up both glass and food, figuring it would all be thrown away anyway.
The whole time he didn't say a word to Jisung, which led the little to believe that Changbin was angry with him.
"Baby, are you ok?" Changbin asked once he had finished cleaning the mess, and Jisung nodded stiffly.
"'M s-sowwy, Daddy! 'M sowwy!" He immediately began to cry again, and Changbin shushed him.
"Baby, you cut your leg," Changbin noticed and Jisung shook his head vigorously.
"N-No, Daddy, it doesn't hurt! Pwease, 'm sowwy!" The younger male kept apologising and Changbin cupped his face gently.
"Look at me, baby boy, good boy," the ravenette praised softly. "You're not in trouble, ok, love? Daddy shouldn't have taken such a long time, so it's all ok. Now, deep breaths for me, Sungie."
Changbin demonstrated breathing in through his nose and out through his mouth, and Jisung copied him, slowly starting to calm down.
"Such a good boy, Sungie. Will you let Daddy clean up your leg now, baby? We don't want it to get infected," Changbin asked, holding his hand out for Jisung to hold.
The younger did so and wiped at his teary eyes with his other fist while Changbin led him into the living room, telling Jisung to stay put while he fetched the first aid kit from the bathroom.
"I wanted to be a big boy, Daddy," Jisung sniffled as Changbin began to clean his wound. "A-And show Daddy dat I can do big boy stuff."
"I know, baby, but you know that if you need something, you should always ask Daddy for help," Changbin replied. "Even big boys need help with things sometimes, Sungie. And there is no shame in asking for help, ok, baby?"
Jisung nodded with a small pout, and Changbin leaned forward to kiss the sign of unhappiness off of his baby's face.
"All done, prince," the older commented once he's sealed the plaster over Jisung's leg. "Now, why doesn't Daddy fix you up something extra nice for lunch, hm?"
Jisung nodded. "Yes pwease, Daddy."
"Lovely manners, baby."
