Chan looked down at Minho walking happily alongside him after their day out. The little was humming something to himself as he swung his and Chan's arms back and forth with their interlocked fingers.
Minho had been super stressed out with work recently, so Chan wanted to do something nice for his baby to help him de-stress and it seemed that taking him out to the cute little café down the street followed by the town centre a few blocks down was absolutely the right choice.
Chan bought Minho everything he looked at, his salary as a producer meaning he was able to treat his boyfriend sometimes, and Minho was extremely grateful for his boyfriend's gratitude (although he told Chan to never ever spend that much money on him again).
And now, on the way home from a really good day, Chan couldn't stop smiling at how happy Minho was, because he really deserved it. He was planning to put on Minho's favourite baby movie when they got home and just cuddle all night, but it seemed like Minho had other plans when a heard a soft mew that Chan didn't from the alley on his left.
Minho stopped walking, equally stopping Chan who looked back at Minho confusedly.
"What's wrong, baby?" Chan asked, running his thumb over Minho's knuckles.
"Daddy, there's a kitty in there," Minho answered quietly, and Chan stepped back to see what Minho was looking at. And, like he said, there was a cat - a snow white one - sitting in the middle of the alleyway, illuminated by the dim streetlight above it.
The two just stared at the stray cat for a few seconds before the animal mewed softly, and Minho gasped as he began to step towards it. Chan tugged on his hand, however, pulling Minho back to him.
"Baby, it's a stray," he said when Minho looked up at him with a frown. "We don't know where she's been or if she has fleas. I don't want you to get sick, baby."
"But she's alone..." Minho pouted sadly, looking from Chan to the small cat in the middle of the alley. "We can't leave her here, Daddy."
Chan bit his lip in thought, but after going through what would be best for Minho, he shook his head. "She might already belong to someone, love. She might have just gotten lost. It's too risky, angel."
Despite being immensely sad that Chan would turn away the poor stray, Minho understood why Chan was opposed to them keeping her. Chan had always had issues around animals, even his own dog Berry. Minho loved cats but he loved his boyfriend more.
"Good boy, Minnie," Chan praised softly, bringing Minho's hand up to his lips to kiss his knuckles. "Come on, let's get home and cozy, yeah?"
Minho nodded sadly, letting Chan walk them back to their house. And while he tried not to be too sad after the amazing day Chan had given him, Minho couldn't help the despair settling in his stomach as Chan dressed him in his favourite pyjamas and kitten ears. Minho only got to wear them outside of play time when he was extra good, so he didn't want to spoil it and get them taken away from him.

Chan did feel bad for Minho.
He knew Minho was worried about the stray, and seeing Minho so upset and worried made Chan feel worried. So, on his way home from work, Chan made sure to walk the same way he and Minho had walked home after their date and - lo and behold - the cat was there, curled next to a dustbin.
Sighing through his nose softly. Chan slowly made his way over to the stray, not wanting to scare her. When he was close enough to be affected by her fur, Chan found that he wasn't, and he reached out tentatively to stroke her head gently.
He noticed that she didn't have a collar and so Chan picked her up, shushing her when she mewed uncomfortably in his arms. After a few minutes, she settled down in Chan's arms and Chan - after sending Minho a text that said he would be home a bit late - walked down to the vets a few minutes from the alleyway.
He got the cat checked out and vaccinated and thanked the vet before finally making his way back home. When he entered the house, he wasn't surprised to hear Minho singing Weki Meki songs loudly in the living room, and Chan smiled to himself when he walked into the living room and saw Minho colouring.
Not noticing Chan standing in the doorway, Minho continued colouring and singing off-key until the music got quieter and he turned around to see Chan standing by the speaker with something white in his arms.
"What's that, Daddy?" He asked, tilting his head to the side in confusion as he stood up.
"Well, Daddy knows that you've been really sad since we saw that stray cat, baby," he started. "So Daddy went back and got her checked out and vaccinated and she's all ours now if you want her, angel."
Chan nearly teared up at the way Minho's face lit up in joy as he ran over to his caregiver and boyfriend and began petting the cat in his arms.
"Thank you, Daddy, thank you!" He squealed, kissing Chan's cheek. "But what about Daddy's problem with fur?"
"Daddy found out today that this kitty doesn't malt so her fur doesn't affect me!" Chan answered, smiling so damn bright at how wide Minho was smiling.
"Daddy's the best Daddy ever!" The little exclaimed. "What should we name her, Daddy?"
"That's all up to you, angel," Chan answered, kissing Minho's forehead. "I'm sure any name you pick will be beautiful."
"What about Snowy?" Minho asked, looking up at Chan. "'Cus her fur is all white and pretty!"
Chan smiled fondly. "That's gorgeous baby."
