Fifty Three - Family Day

Sasuke woke up with a headache. He checked his surroundings and wondered how he got into his room.
He heard a knock from his door, he decided to ignore it and try to close his eyes again. When he heard a familiar voice attempting to open his door, he slowly opens his eyes and just as he thought, Mikoto came into view accompanied by a maid who brought a tray of food that she put on the side table and left the room.

" Sasuke dear, are you feeling alright?" she asked worried.

He tried to get up. Mikoto help him sit with his back on the head board. He rub his temple feeling dizzy. She have not seen his son drunk like last night and was worried that he has a problem.

" You were too drunk last night. One of the maid saw you lying on the floor. It's a good thing I dropped by last night." Mikoto said.

" Is there a problem dear?" Mikoto asked.

" Nothing mom. I just felt drinking last night. I haven't had a good sleep recently. I drunk thinking it would help me get to sleep." Sasuke made an excuse.

" Well, you did sleep but look at you now? You can't even sit properly. I bet you have a terrible headache. I'll tell Shisui that you'll take the day off. I heard from him that your brother's trip was canceled and he's on his way back here." Mikoto said. Grabbing the soup and handing it over to Sasuke to eat.

" Did something happen?" he asked. He remembered that Itachi has a business trip overseas for a week.

" Yes, it was cut short as Mr. Chen have to attend to his brother's party. He invited your brother but Itachi have important things to do." Mikoto said.

Sasuke frowned. Mikoto seeing the question look on his son's face added, " Today is Sachi's family day. He wants to be able to attend."

Sasuke thinks for a moment before starting to eat. "Family day." How he thought that it would've been nice to be a part of the said event. He continued eating quietly. While Mikoto watch his son's every movement.

She knew something's bothering her son but dare not to ask. She also knew that asking him now will not be helpful and so she decided to keep it to herself. Her sons have always been independent and protective with their family. She never recall any instance where the two have given her a problem. However, she will ask when the right time comes and when she does an answer is a must. No one dares to get on her way when she wants something not even her husband can do something about it.

She bid her goodbye and told Sasuke that Naruto and Sachi will stay the night since Itachi has returned. This has been the set up since Naruto and Itachi got engaged. Itachi wants Naruto to get used to his family as they plan to move in to the Uchiha estate after they got married.

It's past twelve in the afternoon. Sachi is waiting at the swing below the tree while looking at his watch.

" Uncle, what time will they arrive?" the kid ask the man behind the tree.

" They are on their way, kiddo. Don't worry." he replied.

" I wish Papa is here too." the kid replied with a little disappointment. He knew his Papa is on a business trip for a week which was the reason why he wouldn't be able to attend the event at his school.

The man behind the tree just "tsk". He can't blame the child from feeling that way because it is his first event at school and yet his parents are nowhere to be found.

" How about Chichi?. Can you call him again, uncle?" the kid requested, worry evident on his voice.

" Don't worry kiddo. He'll come. He wouldn't miss it for sure." he assured the child.
