Chapter 10 - "Klaus has a new profession!"

Caroline had somehow roped Mariposa into helping clean up after the party last night. So the blonde and dark skinned woman walked down the corridor of the school together. "What do you mean you're ditching my clean-up committee?" Caroline asked while on the phone.

"Klaus called. He's leaving town and wants me to pack up his house!" Mariposa heard Tyler say from the other end of the phone.

"Well, since when does sire bond equal mover slave?" Caroline questioned.

"Since he realised you're not gonna dump me for him!" Tyler said. "And, because you've taken the She-Devil that he was gonna get to do it for him - with her magic!"

Caroline sighed. "He's being petty!" Caroline said.

"And he still thinks I'm sired to him!" Tyler said, making Mariposa straighten her back slightly. "It's fine, I'll keep up the act and it will all be over soon." Caroline sighed once again. "I'm late, I've got to go. I love you!"

"I love you, too!" Caroline said before she ended the call, and she faced Mariposa. "You can't tell Klaus that Tyler isn't sired to him anymore."

Mariposa stayed quiet, why should she help these people out, they killed her best friend. Her first ever friend and they murdered him. Finn hadn't even done anything to them in the first place, and they just opted to kill him. "Mariposa?" Caroline asked her. "Can I trust you not to tell him?" She asked.

Mariposa quirked a brow at the vampire. "You're seriously not asking that question, right?" She asked with a small giggle. "I'm literally the She-Devil, of course you can't trust me. Especially after what you did!"

"What did we do?" Caroline asked in confusion.

"You murdered my first ever friend!" Mariposa told her. "You all murdered Finn, he hadn't done a thing to all you. If my information is correct, he was daggered in a coffin for 900 years, he barely got to live and you just opted to kill him!" She told the blonde with a sour look.

"Mariposa, please!" Caroline begged with her eyes. "Please, don't tell Klaus!"

Mariposa stayed silent. "Sure, whatever!" She shrugged, when in reality she was going to tell him.

"Good!" Caroline sighed and Mariposa almost laughed at her. Mariposa had literally just told her that she couldn't trust her, yet she was trusting her right now with Tyler's dirty little secret.

All of a sudden, there was a bang, which cause the blonde to spin round and the dark skinned woman glance around cautiously. "Hello?" Caroline called out.

"Oh, that's smart!" Mariposa remarked sarcastically. "Alert them to exactly where we are!" Caroline glared at the woman.

After a short while, Caroline faced her. "See, there's no one here!" Caroline told her. "Stop being so paranoid. You'll get worry lines!"

"I'm dead, I've been dead for a very, very long time!" Mariposa told the blonde. "So, if I haven't gained them by now, they're not gonna miraculously appear now!" They walked into the main hall, where they spotted Rebekah cleaning up.

"Where's Matt?" Caroline asked.

"He bailed!" Rebekah replied. "Got called into work at the last minute!"

"Are you kidding me?" Caroline said. "So its just...us?"

"Yes, and you're both late!" Rebekah accused the pair of them. "Clean-up committee started at 8:00!"

"It's like, 8:02!" Caroline said.

"Exactly!" Rebekah said. "Maria, nice to see you. You worked things out with my brother yet?" Mariposa gave her a look. "Anyway, I managed to turn up on time and I didn't even get to attend the dance that I organised!" Rebekah moved past them to put some rubbish in the bin close by.
