Elijah had called Mariposa to meet him at the Gilbert house, so that's why Mariposa found herself getting out of her car outside the house and walked towards where the door was still missing. "I would knock, but it seems your home lacks a front door after Klaus literally threw it at me!" Mariposa said as she walked straight in.

Mariposa took a seat beside Elijah, who smiled softly at the woman. "As I was saying, all we need is to take the stake away from him." Elijah told the group sitting before them. "Once he's been disarmed, the weapon's in mine or Mariposa's possession, my family will scatter to the ends of earth!"

"And Alaric will follow them!" Mariposa informed them. "I'll stay here with the White Oak stake, while they scatter. That way Alaric'll have to do more work. He'll have to get the sake from me, then travel across the world to get to them!" She looked at Elijah. "But he won't, I will follow him."

"Does Kol know you're doing this?" Elijah asked her as he looked towards the woman.

"No!" Mariposa answered. "You'll be the one to tell him when you see him next! You tell him, then run, scatter!"

"So, you'll just....run?" Stefan asked the Original with furrowed brows.

"We've done it before!" Elijah informed the vampire. "Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father!" Elijah said. "What's another half century while Elena's able to live out the rest of her natural life?"

"We finally stopped him, Elijah!" Elena said. "After everything that he's done to us, I can't just let you bring him back!"

Mariposa furrowed her brows at the girl. "And what exactly are you gonna do, Elena?" Mariposa asked as she tilted her head to the side slightly. "You're just a puny human, surrounded by puny vampires, and well, I'm me!"

"Mariposa, relax!" Elijah told the woman as he put a hand on her shoulder in a way to calm her. "I give you my word, Elena. I will not revive Klaus within yours, nor even within your children's lifetime." Elijah paused for a second. "Perhaps it'll finally teach him some manners!"

"Why should she trust you?" Matt asked with a slightly raised voice. "All you've done is screw her over!"

"It looks like the human is feeling bold!" Mariposa said as she stared right at Matt, her eyes turning black for a split second.

"And for that, I'm deeply ashamed!" Elijah told the human while Mariposa kept her eyes narrowed at the footballer. "But know this - she could have been dead the instant myself and Mariposa walked through that door tonight." Elijah faced Elena. "So, Elena, I leave it to you to make the decision whether or not to trust me, us, or not!"

"Not!" Damon said over the phone. "Hello! Did that concussion give you brain damage? His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get!"

"I honestly don't see a problem with that little scenario!" Mariposa shrugged with an unfazed expression upon her face.

"Mariposa doesn't mean that!" Elijah assured them all. "Rebekah and Kol will honour the terms, if you return Klaus' body to us....Elena will come to no harm. If they do not, they'll have Mariposa to deal with - especially Kol!"

"They will!" Mariposa asked with a scrunched up face. Elijah raised a brow at her. "I mean, yes. Of course they'll have to deal with me!"

"Do we have a deal?" Elijah questioned.

"No!" Damon exclaimed. "No, no, no, no, no! Did I mention, no!"

"That's a tad too dramatic, Salvatore!" Mariposa told the man over the phone with an eye roll.
