Mariposa awoke with an ache in her neck, and she sat up to see she was in a room she had never been in before in her entire life. She pulled herself out of the bed and left the room, and went down the stairs only to find Jehovah sitting on the sofa. "What the hell?" She asked him angrily. "Are you serious?"

"Mariposa, please, I'm not in the mood." Jehovah told her defeatedly.

"You're not in the mood?" She thundered. "Well, I wasn't in the mood to have my neck snapped and to be taken back to your place." She snapped. "But that still happened to me, didn't it?" Mariposa noticed he wasn't looking at her at all, so she moved towards where he'd be able to see her, and once she did she saw he had red eyes. "Oh!"

"Princess," He said in a soft voice, "they killed Silas. They killed my best friend and brother, he brought me back to life and helped me build a life beside him, besides at the time we had a common enemy - you. I helped him along on his journey to get immortality and promised me some, with a promise to see you again. Him for revenge and me for....well, I'm not so sure, it was a cross between revenge and...love. We got turned to stone together and he helped me out of it. But now, he's gone and dead, and I don't know what to do with myself, it's like I can't function without my best friend and brother, and with you absolutely loathing me. It's too hard, and I can't do it." Mariposa watched as her first love completely broke in front of her, and she couldn't help but feel pity and sorry for him.

Mariposa sighed as she looked at him as he held his head in his hands and began to sob. "Oh, Jehovah." She said softly as she walked towards him and sat on the sofa beside him as she pulled the man into a hug, and he buried his head into her shoulder and just cried as she hugged him.

After a short while her phone began to ring from her pocket, while Jehovah just lay on her content with the company and comfort. She pulled it out. "Hello, what is it?" She greeted the person.

"Where are you, Marie?" Damon asked her. "I'm at your house and you're nowhere to be seen. I was gonna ask if you wanted to go torture a professor who deeply deserves it."

Mariposa looked down at Jehovah who looked up at her, telling her it was okay for her to go, but she decided against it. "Damon, I would love to help your torture some professor, but I'm kinda busy at the moment. But if I can, I'll turn up." She told him.

"What are you doing?" Damon asked her.

"Something....important." She told him before she ended the call on him and placed it on the sofa beside her.

"You didn't have to do that." Jehovah told her as he sniffled and wiped his eyes dry.

"Yeah, well, I may be the devil, Jehovah." She told him. "But when someone looses a brother or best friend they've known for more than one century, I tend to stick around." She said as she stood up from the sofa and pulled him up. "Now, go upstairs and sleep, and I'm pretty sure I took your bed last night, you could've put me on the sofa, you know."

"That wouldn't be gentlemanly." Jehovah told her matter of factly.

"You bound me." Mariposa told him. "That's not gentlemanly either. Anyway, go to bed to get some hours of sleep and I'll get some food for us - mainly comfort food for you." Jehovah went upstairs and she left the house and made sure to remember the route to the closest shop, so she could remember the way back.

Mariposa had gotten back to the house with a bag of food. She placed it all on the side, all frozen and on a bunch of plates. Mariposa then held both her hands out, and the food on all the plates began to get cooked by just her magic, just as Jehovah came back downstairs with a small yawn.
