Mariposa awoke to someone ripping her duvet away from her and she opened her eyes, to see Damon Salvatore standing there as he opened her curtains. "Come on, get up sleepyhead! You were in a coma for a whole summer, you've had your fill of sleep!" He told her before he threw the curtains open.

"Damon!" She complained. "Just let me sleep, would you?"

"No, we're going to try and find my brother." He told her. "Because that's what he'd do for us!"

Mariposa rolled her eyes as she sat up in her bed and stretched her arms slightly. "Fine, fine!" She said with a yawn. "Now, get out so I can get dressed." Damon smirked over at her before he left her room, knowing no matter what Mariposa would always give in to helping him, because he was literally her only friend in this town anymore.

After about half an hour, Mariposa came downstairs, and they both left her house and got into his car. "So, it's nice to see how kind you are to your friends that have just come out of a coma!" She spoke with a sarcastic smile as she climbed into his car.

"Well, you deserve special treatment, Marie." Damon told her as he started the car. "After all, you are the devil!" He then put his foot on the accelerator and they were on their way to their destination.

"Damon, I know I said I'd help you find your brother, but I can't dredge the entire quarry." Liz Forbes, Caroline's mother, told the vampire. "It's enormous."

"I'm aware of that." Damon told the woman. "I mean, clearly that's why we wanted to dump Silas' body here because it's big and deep and no one would find him. Now, say I'm Silas and I want to take over my doppelgänger's life, why wouldn't I dump him in a place that's big and deep and where no one would find him?"

"Damon, I already agreed to hold off on telling anyone about the mayor's death until you and her figure this all out, but I can't devote those kinds of resources to finding one person who may or may not be down there." Liz explained to the older man.

"But it's a place to start, and if Stefan's down there, it means he's been drowning over and over again all summer while I've been happily playing house with Elena." Damon explained to the human woman. "Do I need to further elaborate the source of my urgency?"

"Why can't she go down there and help him out?" Liz asked as she gestured to Mariposa, who was standing beside Damon.

"We don't want her to overexert herself." Damon informed the woman as Mariposa softly nodded. "She's just come out of a summer long coma."

Liz sighed. "I'll get some deputies on it!" She decided before she turned and walked away.

"Thank you, Liz." Damon called after her right before his phone began to ring, and Mariposa wandered off to give him some privacy as she wouldn't want people to listen to her phone calls. However, because she was so old, her ears just naturally tuned into people's conversation, so she walked away.

Mariposa had soon found herself near a bunch of trees and at the bottom right by the lake, when she felt a presence behind her. Mariposa spun round and her eyes landed on Jehovah. "Jehovah?" She asked. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to see if you're okay." He told her with a small smile as he walked towards her. "Are you? I meant you just woke up from an almost-death induced summer long coma, I'd be a bit of a crappy kinda-ex-kinda-not-ex if I didn't ask you how you were feeling."

"Oh!" Mariposa said quietly. "I guess you could say I'm fine." She told the man. "I mean, I don't think there's any after effects of the coma." She admitted with a small shrug.
