Chapter 16 - "I am the devil for a reason, guys!"

Mariposa's phone ringing woke her up, Mariposa sat up with a small groan and rubbed her eyes before she grabbed her phone off the bedside table. "Hello, Stefan." She greeted the Salvatore sourly. "This better be good, because you just woke me up."

"I can tell!" Stefan's increasingly annoying voice spoke from the other side of the phone. "A lot more grumpy than usual."

"Get to what you called me for, or I'm ending the call in you, Salvatore." She said as she rolled her eyes and headed down her stairs and went into the kitchen and saw Chris looking extremely injured. "Chris!" She gasped as she ran to his side. "I'll get back to you, Stefan!" She said before she placed the phone on the side and helped Chris off of the floor, due to him barely being conscious.

Mariposa helped him over to the sofa, and he sighed in relief as he relaxed. "Chris, what happened?" She asked.

"It was Bonnie!" Chris told her. "I was spying on her and Professor Shane, when suddenly her magic just suddenly attacked me beyond healing. You need to heal me."

"I don't have healing." Mariposa told him.

"But you have mind control. Make me heal myself!" Chris told her weakly and he grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly as he breathed heavily. Mariposa squeezed his hand back tightly before she made him look at her.

"Chris, I want you to heal yourself." Mariposa said as she stared deeply into his eyes. "I want you to overpower the expression, and I need you to heal. Heal yourself." She commanded him before she broke the eye contact and watched as he slowly began to heal and she let go of his hand as she grabbed the phone again. "Okay, carry on Stefan." She told him.

"I need you to come down to the Boarding House." Stefan told her.

"If this is about Elena, I really don't-"

"It's not!" Stefan told her. "She's in New York with Damon. I need you down here because this involves something to do with you. I believe Silas followed us off the island. He's obviously got that dagger that can kill you on him, and hospitals have been missing countless blood bags."

Mariposa swallowed nervously. "I'll be there." She told him with a heavy sigh before she ended the call and went to go get dressed.

Mariposa walked through the Salvatore boarding house doors and headed for where she felt their presences and entered the room. "I'm here!" She told them all.

"So, some blood went missing from a few hospitals." Klaus said as he poured himself a drink of Damon's bourbon. "What about Elena? Don't vampires with their humanity off tend to overindulge in human blood, or were you the exception?"

"It's not Elena." Stefan told him.

"Well, let's say for a moment that it was Silas. I'm struggling to see how this effects me." Klaus spoke. "Also, wouldn't Maria be dead already if it were?"

"Look, Silas wants to die and be reunited with his one true love, after killing Mariposa, but he's supernatural so if he takes the cure and dies, he gets stuck on the other side." Stefan explained to the hybrid.

"How shakespearian!" Klaus spoke from the sofa.

"But if he destroys the other side altogether, he can take the cure, die, and pass on, but in destroying it every dead supernatural being will return to our side." Stefan continued as Mariposa looked over at Klaus with a worried expression.

"That means every werewolf, every witch, every vampire." Caroline told Klaus. "I wonder how many of those personally killed. Care yet?"

"I'm gonna go ahead and say that he probably personally killed at least a quarter of them!" Mariposa spoke up as she sat beside him. "Doesn't look good for you, does it, Nikki?"
